For sake of theoretical discourse, where does Circuit 3 fit into the chakra map? It more or less seems to me that the circuits map to the chakras starting at the root and working up to the crown - C1-C7, but I have trouble with equating the circuit/chakra 3.... Hell, I'm not even sure if chakra 3 is in the belly (hara/tantien) or the solar plexus....

chakras are much more of an emotional space than a physical one.

    solar plexus...balance
    fight or flight
    purification

      a good question.

i have always seen the solar plexus as the centre where thoughts organize themselves in relation to the emotional and physical body. it is an integration point, an assemblage point for conceptual existence as it interracts with all the other levels of being so is also related to power, emotional intelligence and instinct

      something like that

Whereas the chakras refer to actual emanations from living organs in the human glandular system, the circuits do not. The circuits refer to a symbolic system -- as opposed to the more "real" chakra system -- that if used correctly (remembering that it's a symbolic system), can refer to attributes of consciousness and intelligence as of yet unmapped by traditional Hindu texts and doctrines. There are also attributes mapped by the Hindus that Leary et al have not touched upon yet (though, gods be willing, I may change that).

The 3rd chakra (solar plexus region) and third circuit do have relevant parallels (I like what robg says about this) but there are also important differences. They're not a clean match by a long shot. Hindu and other indigenous cultures, for example, view the solar plexus as a kind of dreaming portal through which the dreambody exits and re-enters the physical body at night during sleep. Try explaining and proving that to any rational 3rd circuit egghead.

I think what ties the 3rd chakra and third circuit together is the ego and more specifically, the state of being ego-identified. This also applies to anyone who is seriously intellect-identified and as a result, ego-inflated by excessive intellectual pride or hubris. You know, the need to be sure and the need to be right. I think these types of fixations find their focal point in the solar plexus. Check out that queezy feeling we get in our solar plexus the next time we surpass our uncertainty threshold.

i remember in that old interview you did with jose arguelles he speaks about the Kuxum Sum (or some such name) and relates to it as the centre of one's waveform and it being holographically connected to the galactic centre and thus the assemblage point of the nervous system. I thought this was just great.

Wow, that was like over 20 years ago. Jose refered to the solar plexus with the Mayan term "Kuxan Suum" which, he said, was linked to the galactic center, or the "Hunab Ku". He also said that most modern-day people had lost the power of dreaming and the connections that went with that power. Maybe like the way the pineal gland has atrophied in most adult human brains...

depends which chakra map/experience generator you use.

the 'mind' in the middle pillar system is a mainfestation of the throat chakra/sephiroth (see regardie's true art of healing).
personally, i experience the majority of '3rd circuit' thoughts in/around my head.

i'd say if you meditated on yr 3rd chakra and noticed a significant shift in yr 3rd circuit activity/experience, then you have a link.
