8-circuits 8-planets

I have a poster on my wall from the National Geographic magazine which shows the planets of the solar system we humans live in, together with other entities here on this planet and elsewhere. The _title_ of the poster is ¨8 PLANETS: The New Cosmic Order¨. I only recently realized that this might have something to do with the ¨law of octaves¨. It says on the poster, ¨Late August (1992) the International Astronomical Union approved a concise but controversial definition: A planet must orbit the sun; it must not be a satellite; it must be massive enough for its own gravity to keep it round, and also big enough to dominate its orbit.¨ In other words, the planets must have a kind of ¨cosmic autonomy¨. All this revision of the concept of a planet occurred when in observing that in Kuiper´s Belt other bodies similar to Pluto existed, leading to the removal of Pluto from the list of Planets and the modification of the definition of the word planet. I havent thought about it much but I see it more than just a coincidence, and also not one of my personal ¨synchronicties¨. I am only creating awareness about this to initiate a discussion and maybe a research into the subject maybe for a way of better understanding the 8-circuit model.

    Although Sherpa might be able to give a better explanation of this, after some time exploring the possibility of correlations between the 8cb and the zodiac and the planets and so forth, personally I have finally decided that, what is most important is, is that it doesn't matter. Whereas before I would have exalted the unification of these maps, now I see it as being quite pointless and limiting.

    Although it is quite easy to see, like the days of the week;

    1st C = Moon - Monday
    2nd C = Mars - Tuesday
    3rd C = Mercury - Wednesday
    4th C = Jupiter - Thursday
    5th C = Venus - Friday
    6th C = Saturn/Uranus - Saturday
    7th C = Sun/Neptune - Sunday
    8th C = Sun/Pluto

    ..I see it as being sort of baseless. Getting to understand what, for instance, Mars, as a Astrological planet and as a God represents - and then getting to understand what 2nd Circuit represents - and then getting to understand what the Sefira of Geburah in the Tree of Life represents - and then getting to understand what the 27th Emanation in the Sefer Yetzirah represents - and then understanding what the pathway between Hod and Netzach represents - and then getting to understand what the Sacral chakra represents - and then, heck, understanding what all of the innumerable Gods that roughly correlate to Mars in the innumerable historical Pantheons of global mythology represents; when you have a look at all of these, realizing that they all potentially represent Mars - you realize just how multi-dimensional our universe really is in relation to any metaphors and maps we want to give it.

    Thus - in order to navigate the territories of consciousness and participate in expanding your consciousness in life on this planet - it is great to have these maps as one-time guiding ways - but thinking that it is our job to try and explain everything with a 'singular grand unified theory of everything', and further-more, thinking that this will offer some sort of enlightenment with some deluded notion of tying together all of the symbolic cords in your head, is just plain silly. I have found that whilst it can help to bring about a sense of intellectually understanding unity - it only acts as an occasional convincing agent for my over-analytical intellect - which more often than not, is remedied with relaxation, focus and meditation; rather than any silly certitude-game which just perpetuates the separation of body and mind.

    Sherpa and others have said all of this a number of times, each time helping me call attention to further fixations I have on this intellectual neurosis - at the moment I feel I am coming into a firmer understanding of it as, perhaps, I am beginning to integrate it through my own being and participate in it's articulation in my own personal emotional life, though I won't hold any certainties about that. lol

      but yeah that's interesting about the planets having their own cosmic autonomy and everything. 'Tis true..

        As an astrologer by trade, I can understand how some correlations could be drawn between circuits and planets. However, due to my hopelessly pragmatic philosophical bias, I find no personal interest in linking different conceptual frameworks and metaphysical models to appease intellectual curiosity and god forbid, creating that strange loop where symbols become deliriously confused for the realities they represent.

        Ahk!

        My own studies remain steeped in the simplifying, rather than the complicating, how the 8CB model works as a point of departure for its direct application in the heat of the action some call daily life. So far, this action-oriented approach has kept me interested and engaged in furthering my perceptions of what the circuits might actually represent as vital and autonomous processes within and around me.

          I guess my third circuit got too much in the way, hehe. It seems that the importance must be given to the real life application of the 8 circuit brain model/theory, to try it out in the LAB and become a COSMIC SCIENTIST. And also that more importance should be given to what Terence Mckenna called ¨the felt moment of direct experience¨ and to not repeat the same mistakes which were made by many people for many years which gave way to the rejection of the body and overemphasis of the third time-binding semantic circuit. To see all circuits as equally important and watch myself when one of them might get out of control. Thanks!
