I am getting two and a half pounds of root powder from a friend in Equador. There is only one experience with it on Erowid. What do people know about it?

Re: Lady's Slipper
Wed, May 30, 2007 - 11:07 PMWhen I was Young, these rare orchids were frequent in the woods of Long Island, where i grew up.
I'd find them under Dogwoods and Mountain Laurels, nestled in beds of Club Moss and Wintergreen.
I can't imagine any way that eating them would be any sexier than finding them in the forest and showing them to someone whom you loved.
Even is those woods are long torn up
And your love has moved a thousand miles away. -

Sat, December 1, 2007 - 12:41 AMcypripedium acaule is the one from LI, If I remeber correctly. They cannot be transplanted successfully. They have a dependence to mycellia in the soil and when this is disturbed, they die. I'm from Yaphank, LI. I knew of large colonies of these in patchogue that had several of the rare cypripedium acaule alba. The white ladies slipper= sheer magic

Fri, March 14, 2008 - 7:34 PMYes, I think it's not worth ripping up rare species (plant or animal) for the sake of aphrodisiacs.
I'm sure the rare creatures would like to be allowed to continue having sex too.
There are lots of aphrodisiacs that don't involve destroying other things - that has to have some bad karma.

Tue, June 5, 2007 - 1:11 PMI don't know about the S. American ones but the N. American are considered calming/nervine. I haven't heard of it used as an aphrodisiac. I do know nervines are sometimes used in traditional Asian sexual enhancing formulas for premature ejaculation or increased staying power.
