Re: Shameless Plug
Sun, November 27, 2005 - 12:55 AMI will welcome any child that can follow the parents lead on focus through a 15-20 minute relaxed stretching/yoga period and 45-60 minutes of breathing and yelling and movement. Its not intense, but most kids under 7 wont do very well and are the exception to the majority.
That being said, while we dont have legthy conversations, laughter and jocularity accompanied by focus is also welcome. we practice movement, ki breathing and yelling for about 40-60 minutes. Most childern should be fine if they are 7 years or older. Children do not have to join all the activities as long as they dont disrupt those who participate. If trhey want to come and not participate, and they will read, draw, and otherwise quietly occupy themselves without direct supervision, (about 6 or older in small groups), or are able to maintain other quiet activity in the space we practice in, I am willing to give it the benefit of our experience!
So, given that, They are certainly welcome to come, and join or watch the movement, breathing, sitting and yelling if they choose!
I also hope in the near future to start childrens classes. if you have an interest in a program that will keep th ekids minds and body engaged, is community minded and fun, talk with me- i would love to develop a childrens Aikido program~!
