I've started an new 'tribe" -( im also new to the site so any suggestions..hints etc.. would be appreciated)
its called ARIZONAWINELOVERS... Anyone intersted?
Over the last decade, I have developed a strong passion/obsession for the whole wine making process .. (resulting in having started a vineyard or three in Arizona..)
I would love to have others to geek out with : about grapes..vintages... regions..favorites...learn teach etc.
I'm not particular about expertise- or location even... dont have to be az based... more just love of the vino...or an interest in learning more about it..
Anyway.. hope there are a few out there that'll join me

Re: any wine lovers?
Wed, October 18, 2006 - 10:48 AMWine geek here. My passion for wine (particularly wine-making) is currently bordering (only slightly) on the healthy side of obsession. This is exciting.
During my most recent visit to an AZ winery, I was consumed with visions of cornering the winemaker and convincing him to take me on as his humble apprentice. I guess its all part of the vino’s magic…
Disclaimer: I may learn more than I teach here. I have only about 6 years of passionate wine explorations on which to draw; however, most of my best teachers are students, too, so hopefully I will have something to offer to this tribe.
(I’m new to this site, too. The hubby suggested it to me as a way to obtain some advice on improving my forthcoming basement vintages. After hours of divergent explorations through these crazy tribes, I remembered what I came for…y’all will be my first tribe…now if I can just find the AZwinelovers…)

Re: any wine lovers?
Sat, October 21, 2006 - 7:43 AMHad great intentions of visiting Page Springs on my way home from Burning Man this year (headed back to Kansas) but was just entirely too cracked out. (Not to mention, only one of four passengers in the van, not exactly a quorum.)
It's really a shame that shipping wine interstate is (or isn't to be precise) what it is... then again, an in person visit would be splendid.
Perhaps in the spring.
Namaste,
K.

Re: any wine lovers?
Sat, November 25, 2006 - 4:14 AMWell, I have to say that I am a wine novice. I certainly do not have much knowledge when it comes to what makes a good wine, or why...but I am eager to learn; as I have had great experiences with many wines throughout AZ and CA. I pick up numerous bottles and try them out for fun just to learn what makes my senses peak. I am hoping to find out more :) -
