On June 23, 2006, Joss Whedon, the creator of hit shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly, as well as the blockbuster movie Serenity and his upcoming Wonder Woman, will celebrate his birthday. Fans all across the globe will be joining with him in celebration by raising funds for his favorite charity organization, Equality Now (which is dedicated to securing the civil, political, economic, and social rights of girls and women all over the world) with a special big screen showing of Serenity, which we are referring to as the Serenity Now / Equality Now campaign.
We are interested in securing a venue for a special charity showing of the movie Serenity in the Washington DC area, and were hopeful that some of you would be interested in participating. Universal Pictures Distribution is also aware of this campaign, and is also interested in assisting us in this event.
Fans of the movie will benefit by being able to view it on the big screen again. New fans will benefit by being able to experience this movie. Movie houses will benefit by additional exposure and advertising! It’s a win-win-win scenario!
Since this is a charity event, we also need local radio stations to advertise this happening.
If you can help provide the venue or secure radio or other advertising, we'd love to hear from you! We hope that we can count on your participation.
Sincerely,
Paul M. Richards
