the spirit of clothing swaps, with the hope that this tribe will help parents with limited financial resources, keep the stuff moving in the freegan spirit, and create community in place of commodity. it's not the only tribe of its sort but i hope it will thrive and i hope it will be slightly more "lot" oriented than the other spots where people offer more odds and endsy stuff. i'd like to see people able to get an entire boy's 0-6 mos wardrobe for the price of postage.

why? well, cuz we're destitute. or thrifty. or ecologically minded. or freegan. or cuz we're tired of buying clothing manufactured in malaysia by children just as cute as our own. whatever. there's so so much stuff floating around in the world and sharing's more fun.

done with the maternity clothes? great! pass 'em on.

need boys' clothes for 0-6 mos? swell! just ask!

what makes a swap great?

peoples!

we need peoples to make this work. so invite them. the peoples. with the stuff. they don't want anymore. and the peoples who will soon need all this stuff. like the clothes that fit the three year old for roughly five minutes. and things you can fit into when you are five months pregnant and waddling about without much to wear.

how to work shipping out? how 'bout recipient pays postage ahead unless donor's feelin' gifty?

feel like having the good stuff come to you? call for a RL swap at chez vous. doesn't have to be anything fancy. maybe five or ten moms swapping in a living room.
