One of the issues with trying to arrange a gathering is that I'm currently not blessed with the funds to pay full price for movies.
I may be able to occasionally but mostly I would have to go for matinees.
Also, I need suggestions on what movies people want to see that are out currently and which ones upcoming are of interest.
The only current offering I know of is 'Exorcism of Emily Rose' which I've heard is decent.

Re: Arranging a gathering
Thu, September 29, 2005 - 9:08 PMSo I'm curious -- what venue is preferred for the group ??
Home theater is nice, and yet sometimes, nothing beats the ambiance of a large movie theater packed with people ... more of a shared experience ...

Re: Arranging a gathering
Sat, October 1, 2005 - 6:15 PMSince going out to a theater is probably not going to be possible due to financial constraints....
Maybe we can arrange a home gathering. Although, I think yours may be a bit farther than some of the other members can travel. Maybe something a bit more centralized?
I could host something but I only have room for maximum 6 or 7 and it would be really cozy at that. I'd also have to have childcare for my daughter as she's still a bit young for these kinds of movies.
So, if I host something.....what would people want to see? -

Re: Arranging a gathering
Fri, October 7, 2005 - 9:44 AMOr, if you have a DVD player, what movies do other tribe members have that they would like to bring ....
I have the boxed set of the entire Alien-series movies
(the movies with Sigourney Weaver, not the tv series) .. . -

Re: Arranging a gathering
Sun, November 5, 2006 - 4:41 PMI too would be very interested in hosting. I can have up to 6-7 people as well. Just name a date. as Ms said tribe members can list the movies they are willing to share and we can take the top two or three tmost popular to show for that evening. -

Re: Arranging a gathering
Sun, November 5, 2006 - 10:56 PMI think before naming a date we should talk about what films, how many... take a running list, and arrange a couple set weeks of movies to watch. Cause we all have our ideas... funny horror, classic horror, grotesque horror...
We should all do a top five we would like to watch, slim it down to 2 or three a night... then pick how many total nights of watching we would need.. blah blah blah.
It makes it simpler, better planned, and a hell of a lot more complex and nerdly annoying... anyone think that is smart or silly? -

Re: Arranging a gathering
Wed, November 8, 2006 - 1:03 AMNo one really has to take responsibility do they? Sheesh.
Okay. Date first. Then movie. Then place?
Let's decide what to decide first.
HAHAHA! If it takes three weeks, it will be worth it to meet all you fine people.
I assume this tribe isn't littered with unaware psychos? I want all the psychos I know to be aware.
