OK, so I paid my money and went to see Evanescence in Washington, DC last night. The show was pretty good (nice mix of old and new stuff) but what really irked me was that the band started playing at 10:00, played for all of 50 minutes, came back out for two encore songs, and the house lights were back up by 11:10. It was the shortest concert I've ever been to!
WTF? My kid's 4th grade violin recitals were longer than that!

For a major concert I expect at least 1.75 hours of stage time for the headliner, and an opener.
When I saw the Cure in Boston they played for 4 fucking hours! 4 Encores! Amazing show too.
That sucks. I doubt you'd see that shite happening if Ben was still running things, from what I hear
he's kind of a slave driver.

Tue, October 17, 2006 - 7:12 AMFrom what I have heard, Ben was getting abusive and was on drugs. Not something I would want to have around. I've been to many of their concerts with and without Ben, and think that they were all great. They have always been that short. They don't have a lot of material and they don't perform all the songs. Some of them are too personal to perform for Amy.

AWESOME CONCERT!
Wed, October 25, 2006 - 10:45 AMYAY!!! The concert in Denver was awesome! Don't know where that short concert came in for you guys but ours was freakin awesome! I think what may have made it so "short" is the fact that they don't really talk that much they just play the music! Plus the concert was really cheap $26 bucks for tix plus $10 for all the stupid fees. Seemed about right to me. Loved it! Glad that i can type really good cause my voice is completely gone! -

I spend time at 9,300 feet fairly regularly, but I live almost at sea level,
and it always amazes me how fast I get fatigued when I'm up there.
I think it feels good though, I feel a lot more clear headed at altitude
than down here at home, and my creativity seems to increase as well.
I'd live up there if I could, but the commute would be pretty long. :)
