The show was pretty good (nice mix of old and new stuff) but what really irked me was that the band started playing at 10:00, played for all of 50 minutes, came back out for two encore songs, and the house lights were back up by 11:10. <div>To The Open Door right now, and so far Like You is my favorite track! Fucking Epic! I love the way it segueways into Lithium. Great shit. These two songs are so far the best on the album. I think the cohesiveness of this album is certainly better than the last one. The whole album moves along a slow and subtle curve that takes you on an emotional journey from the first flirtations of love through the depths of despair, redemption, and resolution. Killer! I had my doubts, being a huge Ben Moody fan, and I do miss his distintive stamp on the music. No one blazes a guitar solo out as balls-out and tastefully as Ben does. None the less, I love this new album and new sound. I hear echoes of Poe, and Portishead, in some of the electronic/ ambient passages. I LOVE the trippy Eastern-inspired guitar riff in Lose Control. She didn't say which month though.... Also she said the single 'Call Me When You're Sober' will be released Sept. 25. Or the 26th if you're in the states. I'm living in England right now, so that is how I got the magazine. You can probably get it at Barnes and Nobles or Borders as well. I've seen it there a bit, but they are about a week or two behind what is being released over here. Yes, this is from her and is a reliable source. <br/> <br/>Hey guys. <br/>I know everyone is dying to hear whats going on, and its been a little while since I've posted. There's some stuff I really shouldn't talk about right now, but I want you to know that the record is coming out beautifully. Through all of the scary and insane drama over the last 6 months, there has also been alot of good- I feel like a new person. As most of you already know, Terry had a stroke in November. A small chunk of this recording process was spent in the neurology unit at ULCA. Every time he would wake up all he could talk about was getting out of the hospital and playing guitar. He actually had us bring his polka-dot Randy Rhodes guitar to the hospital. Its funny- after being stuck on lyrics for a month on one song, I remember finally writing them at the foot of Terry's bed in intensive care. Its wild how life inspires you- again reminding me that we have no control over anything. It's been 2 months, and Terry has made miraculous progress. He is in the studio with us right now, and everything is going ahead as planned. We are certain that he will make a full recovery- he's too stubborn to settle for anything less. Meanwhile, we were (and are) going through firing our manager, and as you can see (all over the freaking internet), that hasn't been very easy for us either. BUT it always hurts to break through to the other side- to make the changes you have to make to help yourself, and I already feel so good. Weird. I feel better than I have in years. I love my album, I love my band, and I'm grateful for our lives. This album is meaning more and more to me as we finish it. Most of it was written when we came into the studio, but much more has poured out through all of this, making it that much better- that much more passionate. We will be finished with mixing and everything by March first. THAT MEANS it will be early fall when the album is actually on the shelf. We're thinking August. I hope you can understand the delay, and I promise the music will be worth it. I just can't wait to share it with everyone. Thank you all for being so patient and supportive. That dude needs to get beyotch-slapped and told to shut up! Amy, what were you thinking! Ben is SO much cooler that that little twerp. Sorry to rant, but that song is getting on my nerves. The whole reason I like Evanescence is the combination of Ben's dark aggressive music with Amy's sweetness and emotion. With Seether, it's like adding Hershey's Syrup to Really good chocolate ice-cream, it just lessens it. <div>Seems kinda lonely 'round here. I guess I'll kick off the convo with a question. Does anyone else have an opinion on Bens entirely too hasty departure? I for 1 am heartbroken, I loved the band the way they were, with Ben providing the aggressive/sensitive male perspective, and Amy putting in all the wonderful uncategorizable stuff she puts in. I fear the "band" will not be the same, since the "band" was really just Ben and Amy, and the others were hired guns.
