"The right of publicity derived from public prominence does not confer a shield to ward off caricature, parody and satire. Rather, prominence invites creative comment." (Guglielmi, supra, 25 Cal. 3d at p. 869.)
I just posted this journal entry on my deviantArt profile about the situation I have: smolderingremains.deviantart.com/j...9/
I need to figure out if there's a POD vendor who will support my first amendment rights? Or another way to do this? Any suggestions?
Thanks! :)

Re: Cafe Press Fails to Understand the First Amendment
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 2:21 PMHmm...I remember having a Cafepress store once til I had to give it up due to budget cuts. Honestly, Im glad I have. I have had other friends who have had things like this happen. Sadly the sponsors and other such things that Cafepress gets money from are calling the shots. Im sure they arent the only company that does this.
A few that I know of (but have not tried so I have no experience to shed light on) are Zazzle, PrintMojo, Printfection and Spreadshirt (dont let the name fool you, they also do accessory items such as mousepads and cups).
PS: Its just as well since Cafepress has also changed the amount of money you get out of every sale, and some other mess with Amazon. Article here: pod.ruderetro.com/2009/06/0...cafepress/ -

Re: Cafe Press Fails to Understand the First Amendment
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 4:36 PMThanks Cat. I've wanted to switch to Printfection for a while actually but haven't because they don't sell cups or cards... cards being one of the easiest and most obvious things to include... but they decided to go with CUTTING BOARDS ta-da! Because, I dunno about you, but I'm always saying to myself, "you know, I should have more cutting boards with jokes printed on them". ;) -

Wed, July 1, 2009 - 10:37 PMYeah, I noticed that about Printfection. Strange that those 2 items are left out.

Re: Cafe Press Fails to Understand the First Amendment
Tue, July 28, 2009 - 4:43 PMYeah, CP pulled several of my images after a few months, due to copyright crap, Strange that they originally approved the designs. Zazzle is free and doesn't have any restrictions (so far), but their system is really a pain when it comes to designing your site. I'll have to try the other sites mentioned here.
