Can someone suggest a template or resource for me to create a simple web gallery for my paintings? I have basic Dreamweaver skills and would probably understand the jargon. Here's all that I want:
• Not interested in learning Flash now.
• Would like thumbnails that open larger pictures and would be able to go from one large image to another (next/previous) without having to go back to the thumbnails page after viewing each picture to go to the next.
• Or, referring to that last one, the ability to have small thumbnails on the page with the larger picture opening in a nearby frame.
• Ability to have a sentence or two caption for each with title, size, etc.
• I'd like to upload it to my current site. I think that iWeb and iPhoto's abilities require that it go to the MobileMe site if you use them to create slideshow galleries.

I've created a few sites with Dreamweaver, but would never call myself a "Web Designer" in my resume.

  • Not sure if this is what you want ,but you can do all you've listed here for free on deviantart.com
I've been using it for a couple of years as an adjunct to my personal website.
You can add, subtract, images and text easily with plenty of opportunity for text.
The site is robust and is maintained well. There are millions of art student users worldwide with about 10% professionals as well.
This encourages much dialogue and fruitful commentary on all art related subjects...
This is my homepage on there so you can see the format:
