I've heard a few of you mention B-12. I started taking it last winter in hopes of boosting my energy and (possibly) helping with the peptic ulcer. What benefits do you find with taking B-12?
Oh, great news, by the way: Yesterday I got news from the doc that I do NOT have the H-Pylori bacteria, that dangerous stuff that can lead to stomach cancer. The Urea breath test showed negative. I've had stomach/ digestive problems since 1986, when my gall bladder was removed, and last October I learned, through a blood test, that I had a peptic ulcer with the H-Pylori present. I went on 2 weeks of antibiotics that about did me in, but apparently I got rid of that bacteria. I was soooo happy to hear that... and besides, I've got my hands full trying to deal with muscular pain.

Re: B-12
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 10:34 PMI decided to start taking B-12 purely because, after hearing aboot so many celebs using the stuff as a hangover cure, I figgered it might help with Ye Olde 'Fibro-Morning' (which, fer me at least, it actually seems to) -- and I've noticed that my overall energy level seems higher as well (when I remember to *use* the dernded stuff, anyhoo [sigh]...) -

Re: B-12
Thu, May 22, 2008 - 10:19 AMOK I'm out of B-12 but not for long! I'll get some today. I like the liquid that I shoot under my tongue for a quick pick me up. LMAO I just remembered a rather "kinky" story surrounding B-12. When I was training to be a professional Dom I was under the tootalege of a six fott something, broad shouldered, bald & very biker looking man. He often has a flock of ladies around him when we make an appearance at our local BDSM club. About half way through one night we were standing around being social when I noticed him retreave a bottle of what I knew to be B-12 from his bag. I stuck my tongue out at him for a squirt. When I got mine, I saw several other ladies do the same. Later we were told that someone had mentioned to the "Dungeon Master" that it appeared we were openly doing drugs on the dungeon floor, which is a huge no no. There are no drugs or alcohol allowed at most legit BDSM clubs. I still giggle will I think of that story. We were simply getting more energy so we could....... ya know..... longer! LMAO -

Re: B-12
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 9:11 PMThanks to Ozzy, I got some liquid B12 today. I didn't even know there WAS such a thing.
I asked the pharmacist about it, and he showed it to me. Then he said, "Do you want the Fibromyalgia Gum, too?"
THERE'S GUM?
I got some, although I haven't tried it yet. I got it at CVS and it's called Rapid Energy.
It's made by a company called Life Fitness. It's sugar and gluten free, and contains 325 mcg B12 per serving (two pices).
I'll let you know how it goes . . .

My personal standard is: you want something that contains a recommended daily value of B-12 that's at least four digits long (I meself take a B-12 pill that by itself has some-number-in-the-thousands % to it, and then add a regular multivitamin on top [whenever I'm not too fibrofogged to remember it, of course, of course] -- that 5-Hour Energy Drink stuff has similar dosages, IIRC...)
