Alot of people with Lyme have an ongoing problem with detoxification. When you try to kill the Lyme spirochete, it produces endo & neurotoxins. It's a special kind of hell called the Herxheimer reaction.
Many people with Lyme are continually trying to detox these toxins by using chlorella, zeolites, or nanotek chitosan, taking baths in epsom salt & adding baking soda or hydrogen peroxide, taking saunas including far infrared saunas or soaking in hot tubs, doing very light exercise - like using a rebounder to get the lymph moving, special diets, etc.
I just thought some of these things may help you guys. There are alot of toxins out there. Seems like everyone should be doing this to some degree.
I found a great Korean sauna in NJ. Some of these places may be in other states or you can try the YMCA, etc. It's not necessarily expensive. Just proceed gradually. Sometimes, you may get worse if you release the toxins too fast. Take it easy & don't try to do too much. It's an ongoing process.

Wed, April 30, 2008 - 11:28 PMMeagan - I'm not sure if you mentioned that you had Lyme or were using the doxy for some other reason. If you start having the "herxheimer reaction" that can indicate that you may have Lyme. The spirochetes produce toxins when they die-off - creating an increase in symptoms (pain, tiredness, etc.). It's usually an indication of Lyme but it can also happen due to other things. I tried antibiotics for about 8 months & they didn't help me. Some people do them as an ongoing treatment but I decided to use an herbal protocol instead.
anni - I'll post a link to a website about an inflammation diet. You may want to consider that (?)...
