working from home?

topic posted Wed, March 19, 2008 - 12:41 PM by  Meagan
Howdy all,
So i'm broke desperate and out of things to sell. I have been combing the web with no luck as i cant find any real work opportunities that allow you to work from home, and until i get or if i get disability things look like they are getting much scarier than anticipated. Living with my mom makes it very hard to get any assistance whatsoever but even staying with her also looks to be in jeopardy so i was wondering if any of you might have a niche or good place to look at for working from home type stuff. Much love and hugs to you all

just about anything involving the internet allows you the opportunity to make work-at-home arrangements. any work that can be handled remotely, via email or servers. blog writing, customer service, research, web coding, web design, virtual office, etc. there are also survey companies and dictation companies that have flexible hours based on what you produce.

I'd look at what skills you currently have and see what online markets utilize those skills. I'd also look at what skills you may need to learn to take advantage of a work at home situation.

I'm a technical writer. I've been working from home for 3 years. I go into the office rarely for meetings, but I have VPN access and can call into conference lines. I'm a consultant. Don't have amazing health benefits, but it gives me more leeway.

I'm signed up for Guru.com, but haven't completed projects yet.

      Meagan,
It sounds like education would then be your first step on improving your work situation. :)
      good luck.

        Meagan,

Don't give up. Work on some ideas for working at home. Are there other ideas for income streams? Are you creative, artistic? I know folks who sell their work on Etsy. Keep talking to people and knocking on the door.

        Keep going sister!
