Dry needling is done by a doctor. They insert a thin needle into the spasming muscle at the trigger and the repeatedly penetrate it. I had it done once and was in so much pain afterwards I saw it more as torture not treatment. What they failed to completely explain was that these treatments increase healthy new collegen in the muscle. Breaking down scar tissue and leying in sweet new healthy tissue. Pain is the price, but it can heal without drugs, and actually repair damage.
I may go back...shudder...
