You don't see too many of them these days but I recently saw Short Bus and I thought it was exceptional. I saw the unrated version so it's fairly graphic BUT it deals with some pretty serious sexuality issues (including polyamory) with sensitivity and humor. Has anyone else seen it?

    *Loved* Shortbus.

Other movies I think give a reasonably positive view of poly (not all of them have poly endings, but they at least show poly relationships in process): A Home at the End of the World, Threesome, French Twist, Bandits, Paint Your Wagon (believe it or not), Blow Dry. And Pleasantville, one of my favorite movies anyway, has an intriguing poly-flavored hint at the end.

Believe it on not Banditas staring Slema and pennelope cruze has some good poly elements, most recent movies about King arthur ( remember the traingle between lancolot and arthur and gueinniver) and mists of avalon. closer is a good one as well .

My favorite, from the 80's, is "Summer Lovers". Darryl Hannah, Peter Gallager and the late, beautiful Valerie Quennesin (sp?) Check IMDB.

American couple goes to Santorini for the summer, he falls for beautiful French gal, they wind up becoming a threesome and the process is pretty true to life. I finally got to Santorini this year and think I even found the house they had.

I agree. Shotbus is truly a wonderful film. I wish they made more movies like Shortbus.

        I looooove "Shortbus", & own a copy.

Loved "Closer", too... but I wouldn't call it a poly-themed movie... more about the twisted angst of relationships... & what effects cheating (not poly) can bring...

There's a little seen film from the 70's I like very much called "Lovin' Molly", that was really unusual. It was a non-judgmental look at a rural western woman, two male friends, & the love between them throughout their lives. Starred Blythe Danner (Gwenyth Platrow's mom) Beau Bridges... & damn- can't remember the other lead...

Another great one is the French classic "Jules & Jim"... same kinda them. but set in an earlier time, & very French!
