Here's mine - I have two, one for "picked in wild and eaten", and one for "commercially obtained and eaten". Found/picked in wild would be a gigantic list and I have not attempted to create it nor would I successfully create it if I tried. I'm sure you could have "cultivated at home and eaten" lists.....munch munch
Found in wild and eaten:
Oyster Mushroom - Pleurotus Ostreatus
White or Yellow Morel - Morchella Esculenta or Deliciosa
Black Morel (Fathead) - Morchella Elata
Shaggy Mane - Coprinus Comatus
Weil's - Psilocybe Weilii
"Potent Woody" - Psilocybe Cyanescens
Blue Meanies - Panaeolus Cyanescens
Sierran Puffball - Calvatia Sculpta
Pink-Tipped Coral Mushroom - Ramaria Botrytis
King Bolete - Boletus Edulis
Fly Agaric - Amanita Muscaria
Turkey Tail - Trametes Versicolor (really just chewed on it)
Ling Chih/Reishi (shelf form) - Ganoderma Lucidum (make tea) - found the stalked form also, very bizarre fungus!
Weeping Milkie - Lactarius Volemus/Corrugis
Indigo Milk Cap - Lactarius Indigo
Nature's Color Wheel - Lactarius Paradoxus
Eastern Cauliflower Mushroom - Sparassis Spathulata
Chanterelle - Cantharellus Cibarius
Horn of Plenty (Black Trumpets) - Craterellus Fallax
Yellow Tube Chanterelle - Cantharellus Minor
Orange Tube Chanterelle - Craterellus Ignicolor
Red Chanterelle - Cantharellus Cinnabarinus
Yellow Trumpet - Craterellus Odoratus
Black Chanterelle - Craterellus Cinereus
Blewit - Clitocybe Nuda ---the teenagers all giggle at this one!
Bought and ate:
Ubiquitous Commercial - Agaricus Bisporus
Shiitake - Lentinus Edodes
Nameko - Pholiota Nameko
Velvet Foot - Flammulina Velutipes
Magic - Psilocybe Cubensis
This is overall only my 3rd year hunting mushrooms and my first year (as of november last year) hunting edibles, and I have found it is much more enjoyable to approach the fungus kingdom with a gastrointestinal bias than with a "merely curious to look and learn" bias or a "psychedelic" bias. For my first year with the delicious fruits, I have sampled a wide array of the fungus kingdom! Have yet to try truffles, edible shelf polypores, gastroid agarics, and have found many but haven't got the guts up to try eating grisettes, despite my certainty of identification. Feel free to post your fungal menus! I'm curious to hear suggested mushrooms and see other people's fungal diets
