Could you tell me, besides liberty caps, the names of other entheogenic mushrooms? I have been asked to paint them & although I already have liberty caps on slate, I am not sure of the full range of other entheogenics!

Sat, April 4, 2009 - 2:50 PMSeveral that to come to mind right away: Psylocibe cubensis, the classic Magic Mushroom; and Amanita muscaria, the Fly Agaric.
I'd suggest you root around www.erowid.org, and also peruse Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World by Paul Stamets.
Many many 'shrooms described and illustrated in these two sources... -

Thu, April 16, 2009 - 5:43 PMsalutations from across the pond:
there is an amazing website that sells used books,
rare books, out of print books, text books, etc
www.abe.com
i purchase books from them all the time when i need
a visual references for my projects... typically the postage
is more expensive than the book... or another (free)source
could be "google images" but don't expect originality from it...
you made me have a crazing for some special tea!
enjoy the day,

Fri, July 3, 2009 - 2:43 PMPsilocybe Azurescens(flying saucers, a fun one to draw/paint), Psilocybe Cyanescens(wavy caps, and other fun one to draw/paint), Psilocybe Cubensis (over played, but is still great due to the deformations lol), Psiocybe Mexicana (mexican liberties basically), Gymnopilis Spectabilis (Giant Laughing Gym)... There are more... PM if you want. -

Gymnopilis Spectabilis
Wed, October 7, 2009 - 12:58 PMWhen I was foraying with my local Myco society, the word on these was that the Japanese ones will get you silly, but our west coast Laughing Gymnopilis will not. My BS detector is beeping...
Does anyone have firsthand experience?
