Why?! JOHN EDWARDS FINALLY ENDORSED BARACK OBAMA!!!!!
At the end of a grueling 48 hours that left me completely exhausted, this was SUCH welcomed news. I have NO idea what effect this will have on the electorate, if any at all, but what a giant morale booster. This has been such a hard fought primary season with ups and downs like a freaking roller coaster. I continue to support the campaign on several different levels. I'm also looking at how I can get my butt up to Oregon to help out.
I'm so grateful. I'm so proud.
It's time to heal the fracture and to bridge the divide. It's time to defeat John McCain. If you are an Obama supporter and you've yet to get involved in the campaign, I invite you to do so now on whatever level you can. If you are an Obama supporter and you are already involved in the campaign, I invite you to step it up a notch. He's going to need all the help he can get during the general election. You KNOW that the Republican attack machine is gearing up for the "all out, guns blazing, take no prisoners" assault of a lifetime.
I am willing to be on the front line of defense. I believe in this man and what he's tapped into in the collective consciousness. No amount of skepticism or cynicism from anyone else is going to dampen or derail my conviction.
Head over to the official campaign website: www.barackobama.com
There you will find dozens of ways to get involved locally and nationally, if you are so inclined. If you STILL think it doesn't matter who's in office, I invite you to look at the last 8 years through the very real possibility of them having been under AL GORE and NOT GW. There's NO doubt that he would have been a better president than GW. I would have been a better president than GW! YOU would have been a better president than GW! For starters our carbon footprint on the planet would be far less under Gore. Secondly, the situation in Iraq would look remarkably different than it does now, as would the impact that it has had on our economy and our standing in the world.
I'm REALLY clear that my actions have already made a difference in this campaign, that my voice has been and continues to be heard. I'm also clear that having been inspired by the campaign, I've made a difference in the lives of grade school kids in a classroom all the way on the other side of the country! I helped to fund a project by a teacher who wanted to add a 'Harry Potter" book to her active participation reading list. There are so many other projects in the works too. Check this out:

Check out my dorky exuberance back in March in response to Obama people getting things DONE. This is a blog on my personal profile on the Obama campaign site:
"OH MY GOD!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
I was the second person to donate in Obama's name to the 'Everyone Deserves a Chance' fund through Donor's Choose.org a couple of hours ago. I donated $50 and about $700 or so was still needed. I just happened to check back to see if anyone else had donated yet and the WHOLE THING IS ALREADY FUNDED!!!!
YOU GUYS ROCK SO HARD! I'm SO proud to be a part of this movement with all of you! There is NO doubt in my mind about what Barack keeps talking about with regard to the change happening that is SO needed beginning with US!!!!!!!
I'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination, (Actually, I told a lie. I AM rich!) but I saw this as an opportunity to put my money where my mouth is AGAIN. I've been doing that quite a bit of late thanks to Barack and this campaign.
You guys make me proud to be an American again. Just LOOK at what we are DOING as a community. There's NOTHING we can't accomplish.
Oh boy am I excited! What else you got? Bring it on! Team Obama is on the case!!!"...
To me, it doesn't get much better than that. I LIVE for inspiration!
What an EXCITING time to be alive! I'm grateful for my life EVERY DAY. I know how much of a blessing it is, and it just keeps getting better all the time! In fact, I'm actually quite surprised that I haven't won the Lottery yet!!! How odd!! Must be a glitch in the matrix ;-)
Thank you, Barack, for running for President. This is already a different country because of the way that you've run your campaign. I am proud to be a part of it!

Re: I cried like a baby for 20 minutes last night! (This is what I posted as a blog on my profile today)
Fri, May 16, 2008 - 8:57 PMThe time is now to get involved. Don't look back years from now saying "I could have done something." It is truly a remarkable time to be alive and see what is happening in our country. Im very happy to see that this campaign has made a positive impact on your life. People can do some pretty amazing things when we all come togeather: black, white, Asian, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Jewish and so on. I believe we are seeing the beginning of the future of our country. The melting pot of races is happening right now. In 50 years from now almost the majority of the country will be mixed and much more diverse.
Fired up and ready to go on to the general election! Lets take back the Whitehouse!

Tue, May 20, 2008 - 12:48 AMI watched the faces of so many people on Sunday waiting under the hot Portland sun for a glimps of the man who will be our next leader and I saw hope in those faces, it felt like the whole city turned out.
I was moved by the mass's who came from hours and days away to stand up for OUR country I felt fear leave, I was moved by the cheers that became one voice and I was proud, I am still overcome by the sheer # of people who stood up with one voice and decleared we are our country and we want it back.
my face is sun burnt my legs still cramped from walking for so long, but my spirit lifted my faith becomeing restored. I have voted and feel no reservation I dont think that has ever happened, I am a believer again in what our country stands for and hope the rest of the world will see the good from us again, I lost hope years ago in the power of the people, the people having to much else going on, but on Sunday I became a believer in the people.
POWER To The People and ALL that WE Can do ToGether!!!!
I LOVE MY CITY NOW PORTLAND GET OUT & VOTE!!!!
CHEERS ALL

Tue, May 20, 2008 - 2:15 PMI watched this video this morning and had my turn to cry like a baby. It was so sudden but it seemed the longer I watched the video and thought about just how many people came out to see Obama, it stirred all these emotions in me and I just wept. But it was a good kind of cry. Full of hope from watching the man who will be our next President speaking to the masses. It was a beautiful site....and more to come I am sure!

Thu, May 22, 2008 - 6:36 AMWelcome, Susie.
I'm from California. I currently live in California and I'm a precinct captain for the Obama campaign. So, can you imagine how I felt about California going for Hillary Clinton? It took me a few weeks to recover from that one, and my opinion of California is slowly getting better. I'm giving her another chance to come correct in November :-)
Spread the word as much as you can to your friends there and at home that Barack will be needing all the help he can get to become elected. We need volunteers. We need patriots for the cause. We need action packed hopemongers!

Come on in if you haven't already. Things are heating up so the water is NICE and WARM!!! :-) Find out how you can get involved and encourage your friends to as well!
Be well, Susie.
Much love,

Sat, May 24, 2008 - 3:53 AMThanks for the warm welcome. I do get get the newsletters emailed from Obama.com & I have also joined the expats for Obama group. Unfortunately alot of the good meetings tend to happen in London which is 2-3 hours away, though that makes sense, because so many Americans are there, alot through work.I don't personally know any other Americans here, but I have gently put the bug in the ears of my friends back in Calif about doing what they can and please be sure to vote.I must say most are not as passionate about it as I am, so if they just vote it will be somthing.Though I do strongly believe that all efforts big and small do ripple and wow what a result! Thanks for caring and being so involved Kalla.
Obama's the man
Yes we can!
Much love , peace and hope,
Susie
