I mean, hell, an opportunist would be somebody who gave a sincere speech about how they landed in a war zone and were escorted under heavy fire in to protective conditions in order to show how they had 'seen combat'. A Snake Oil salesperson would play the lie off, apologize, and immediately go back in to sales mode. Anybody who did both of those would be a fraud in my book.
