What's YOUR favorite style?

sometimes beauty is obvious, sometimes beauty is found in the rough edges. what syle of wall art draws you in the most?

- Airbrush
- Spray Can
- Hand painted (actual brush)
- Stickering
- Stencil
- Slap Wash (correct me on the term, it's when the art is already done and then applied with an adhesive wash. usually used like posted bills, larger pieces)
- Misc (feel free to add anything i missed)

I'm really drawn to what i refer as slap wash (again, correct me) since the artist can spend a large amount of time on the piece without being rushed. I recently posted a Light & Dark women slap wash in the photo album. You could really get lost in the details, it was like peering into a page of someone's own personal sketchbook; really nice work.

Those are really great CyberBuddha. You're right. The detail is really amazing. Thanks for posting!

I am not sure if any certain type draws me in more. That's what I love about wall art. There is such variety.

i like slap washing, but i call it wheat pasting.
i agree you can do totaly intricate stuff, or sometimes even sloppy scribles, but its cool to be able to poster something aroudn the city, regular everyday passer-bys will recognize those before they recognize a tag.

im sorry but nothing can replace the good old ghetto mentality of a can of SPRAY PAINT from the local dollar store, and some duct tape to use as stencils

as maudlin as it might sound, memorial murals. I spend a lot of time in ghetto areas at work...Ive seen some phenominal memorials to people killed in the hood.

like entire walls done up...i dont think I have any in my photo collection...seems every friggin time I try to shoot one theres a dumpster or parked cars in the way so I cant get my angles for a prefect shot...and if I cant get perfect I dont bother.

I've got to go back there with my camera so you all know what i'm talkin about. SO GOOD!
oh, and i really really like murals done in mosaic...like on the lower east side....very very so good!

please please pleeeeeeeeease post the link for us to see.
I'd love to look over 'em. i'm into this shit, like crazy!
I have this fascination with subways and tunnels and old broken down buildings and creepy shit. I like to explore and mark my territory with art. it think it's mysterious and there's so much more beauty in art without rhyme or reason than there is in a gallery full of price tags.
