Hello Again.
OK. I was curious as to what you all have successfully pulled off when it came to layering Bellydance and poi. It requires so much cordination; it is nearly imposible, well for me at least. I have found a few combos that are pretty doable. Hip figure Eights are pretty managable with just about anythng, as are hip shimmys. I also just love the ever-so-popular backbend while doing the weave. Chest pops, circles, slides, ect with behind the back spinning looks pretty cool. These are just some pretty easy things I can actually do, which leaves alot of just bellydancing or just spinning in between. I would just love it if you all would share some other layering ideas. Thank you so much.

Re: Layering Bellydance moves with poi moves.
Sun, November 18, 2007 - 8:19 AMI had a really hard time doing that, but I am not the expert performer with poi...I have done alot of level changes and hip circles (esp with the corkscrew), shimmies and mayas. I have also found that it is easier to dance (and looks pretty cool) when using transitional moves. -

Re: Layering Bellydance moves with poi moves.
Mon, December 3, 2007 - 5:41 AMI agree, BD moves are easy to fit into transitional moves. A favorite combo I like to do is go from a plain old weave into just spinning circles at my sides while accenting with a belly roll or hip bumps.
