Future of Tradition Productions and Arts2People have joined forces for the Asheville Holiday Parade! To foster community support for the arts, we are constructing a float with a bellydance theme- a Magic Carpet Ride - and entering it in the float contest. We are excited for the opportunity to bring people together for a day of fun, food & art to make this dream a reality. The parade theme this year is 'creating community thru celebration' - let's start with a party!
We will have the first Art Party on Oct 28 - 12 - 7 PM, at Kitty's. We will be making banners, assembling & painting the magic carpet and making the giant tassels. No artistic talent required, just enthusiasm. Please bring something to eat or drink and your creativity! Kid and new mom-friendly. If you would like directions, contact Torva at Torvawench@gmail.com.

We also hope that many of the area's dancers will walk and dance with the float. Imagine - 20, 50, 100 dancers togther!
The vision is to transform the whole city's idea of us from a few koochy girls to a global movement with joy and integrity!!!!

A modest start, there were twenty of us on and around the float, which looked GREAT.
The soundsytem was awesome, the dancing was really upbeat , and it was enjoyed by many.
We watched the footage at my house and ate pizza after.
