Do pagan women really want relationships with pagan men?

Hi everyone,

I joined this tribe a few years back shortly before pulling myself out of looking for someone and was having such little luck (zero to be precise) not only meeting pagan women who were interested in relationships but women in NJ who were interested in authentic relationships…and then could deal with me being committed to my beliefs. So I decided to give up the search for a while and nurture myself some. Basically I did a spell/prayer to the Goddess, or the Universe, or however you wish to view it asking for a person with the qualities (of personality mind) to be brought into my life…and then just let it go on my end and focused on other relationships and livin in the non-virtual-world.

Recently I was drawn (I might better use the term sucked) back into the “pagan community” in NJ and through a mutual friend was introduced to a lass who made me nearly swallow my tongue, we had so much in common, and talked for hours, and the more I got to know her the more I liked her. I hadn’t even thought on the spell I did 3+ years back and then remembered because it was if someone had read the list and sent someone who had all the qualities on it.

Unfortunately after we had been dating for a month and some (and not rushing things) I told her that I was truly fond of her…and her reply was that she wasn’t sure how she felt about me, but she was willing to go out with me. Then she began lying to me in order to break dates. So I knew it was over or that at best I was Mr. Standby.

Now I’m pretty much back in a similar place to three years ago, although wiser – and more cynical - having watched others relationships in the “pagan community” hereabouts come go and get messy.

I wonder if any in the group – men & women - would care to comment on some of my observations over the years, often as a bystander to relationships (and often knowing the woman as a friend rather than the fellow) that pagan women often seem to prefer to date and have relationships with non-pagan (and often mainstream) men.

* Because they feel that Pagan men are less successful, often due to their ethics influencing their choice of work (Why date a Naturopath when you can date a “real doctor”? Why date an environmental lawyer when you could date a corporate attorney?)

* They are more comfortable with mainstream men even, if that is part of a self destructive pattern, often the one that led them to an interest in paganism to find empowerment. Pagan men confuse them because they often don’t fit the relationship dynamics they are comfortable with.

* Pagan fellows are often seen to be competition to their beliefs or they feel they are horning-in on a “women’s only” club. They really don’t want to share that aspect of themselves with a boyfriend, lover, mate.

* Non-pagan men often provide them with a way to belong to the mainstream in an “and guest” fashion, and despite either where their real or merely avowed beliefs lie they still want more to be accepted on some level by mainstream society. (I know a person who is a very public and professed Wiccan and liberal and feminist who was dating a fellow who was the head of the local Republican party and could only talk about all the political events he took her to while she was dating him and the Republican big wigs she met.)

At least these are some of my personal observatins from the mid Atlantic region. It may be different other places but here I do actually see the ladies (who after all have the final say) consistently go for the non-pagan men first...all else being equal.

Any and all thoughts or comment appreciated...

Cethelen

FYI: I started a new group called GreenLove and it's a little bit more open. Meaning, not only is it for single pagans, but for singles who are looking for communion and fellowship with other singles of the green persuasion. So, if you love Pacha Mamma, Gaia, Mother Earth, then come on over and join GreenLove. The more, the merrier.

Single Pagan Male seeks friends, companion

Hail and well met!

Robert here, new member to the tribe. I'm a 55-year-old Pagan currently living in North-East Pennsylvania, following my personal path for the past 40+ years. I've been lucky enough to find a soulmate, unlucky enough to lose her to the Summerlands some 15 years past... Thought I found someone again, but alas, it did not last... So now I want to expand my circle of friends (both male and female), and if luck strikes again, meet another woman to share life's joy with.

I've never liked long introductions, thinking it better to converse or share communications to learn about another person. I encourage and appreciate e-mails or IMs.

Bright Blesssings!

Most of what I have found on the net in the way of singles groups is a waste of time. And except for tribe net all other Pagan single sites are a joke. So far tribe net comes up looking about the best in terms of being a free site and no BS. However, actually connecting with a Pagan gal in Alabama may be difficult no matter what site I use. DH and POF have no Pagan members, at least not that I can find. And the DH forum is mainly for people who are bored and want nothing more than to have a cyber life rather than a 3 dimensional life.

One possibility that is on the horizon is a meet up of Pagans this Tuesday June 3rd in Prattville. You can get more info about this at :

I have just joined this site today and so far am finding it interesting. This tribe seemed like a good one to start off with. My profile is not done yet so bare with me. LOL
A little bout myself, I am very recently widowed, and do not say you are sorry, please. .His bad Karma got him.
I have been a Pagan for bout 16 years now, I do not follow a Path. I do what feels good and do what type of magic is needed at the time.
Love to do crafts.
Just like everyone else on here i am looking for that someone special, but have learned not to jump into something. I am unable to move and do not do long distance romances but do love to have friends all over.
Blessings to ALL
Make it So

I know it a bit early but I thought I'd put it out there to have enough time to set something up. Are there any singles that will attending Pantheacon 2008? It would nice if we could have an informal meeting/lunch/dinner. What do people think? any ideas

Hi there Pagans, Witches and Goddesses, (in Santa Cruz or close)
I’m newly single after a 25 year marriage and find myself a little lost when it come to the single social life. So if there are any women who would like to hang out with a fun guy I’m here waiting. I’m into Yoga, Dance of all types, cycling, bodywork and sometime I enjoy just hanging out at home for a home cooked meal and watch a movie. I all so like to go to music shows, festivals and tribal type camp outs.

Be Well

Serendipity Anyone?

"Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely."
Some of us have an idea of what we're looking for, while others are here may be taking Magickal steps to wrangle a partner.
I believe serendipity is set into motion at a subconscious level, that's why I can say, "Well this is nice!? It seems Velma is better than Daphne."
In the process of hunting for a mate we may create this paradox: "I was shooting for Daphne, because I like red heads, but Velma knew what I was talking about and didn't need pampering."
I'm surprised to get Velma, but I caused it to be.

I live in Colorado, but who knows what may come...Me.

Damn its worth a shot...anybody have a bath tub I can borrow?

This white magic love spell is intended to attract the perfect mate and partner. For ease of writing, this spell assumes heterosexuality, but works for anyone using combinations of signs.

It is an unethical act to try to force your will through magic on another person, it violates the Wiccan Rede and will not work in the desired manner! Rather you should concentrate on the qualities of the partner required, definitely not a particular person.

Equipment Needed:
Rose Petals or a few drops of essential rose oil
Four candles, Three white and One in your favorite color
Two candle holders
A rose colored altar cloth or rose paper
A piece of chalk, preferably red to symbolize passion or love

Preparation:
Take time out to relax, take the phone off the hook, and turn off the answering machine, or remove from earshot - know that you will not be disturbed.
Set the white candle and your favorite colored candle on your altar as far as you can either side of the new cloth.

Run a bath add a few drops of essential oil or sprinkle the petals on the surface, light two of the white candles in the bathroom, and turn off the lights and relax.

Note from Nevyn: I live on a horse ranch in an old trailer...no tub...guess I could use one of the horse troughs.

When you are lying down, empty your mind of anything but your needs for the qualities of your lover. Concentrate on your favourite colour until it fillls your minds eye. Will an outline of your partner to appear, and infuse the shape with the qualities you require.
Remember that feeling as you dry yourself.

Note from Nevyn: Dry Myself? Just try to get dry in Alabama...I dare you....

The Spell:
Dressed or not, go to your Altar, and light the two candles, the white one to represent your partner, and the coloured one to represent yourself.

Note from Nevyn: Altar? Where the hell do I get that?....

Draw a symbol of love on the cloth using the chalk. Either a heart, or a combination of the symbols of man and woman linked.
Light the two candles, hold them outstretched to the side, close your eyes, rekindle the outline and the qualities you require. Visualise two lights, starting at the edges and moving towards the figure. Concentrate on bringing the two lights together
If you have the visual firmly fixed in your mind, the glow through your eyelids will help guide the lights into the centre of the image while you draw the two lights together physically over the cloth.

If you are female, ask Aphrodite or Freya to bring you your mate or Cupid or Eros if you are male.
As your hands meet over the cloth say aloud "By the love of ' ------- ' bring this union of heart and mind"
For all the lovers of Venus you can substitute either of the following incantations
"Through the love of Venus bring my partner to me"
"Perfect love be mine through he attraction of Venus"

Repeat the process 3 times.

Place the candles back on the altar in the position you first placed them.
Take the cloth and fold diagonally twice so that you are left with a triangle of cloth, the corners represent you, your partner and the deity you are asking.
Leave the candles to burn half way down.

Every subsequent day meditate on your visual image and bring the lights together. Move the candles closer to the triangle. After a week or so the candles should stand on two corners of the cloth. At this time, give thanks to you chosen God/Goddess of love and leave the remains of the candles to burn down.

________________________________________________________

Yep, I'm gonna try this..lighting those candles is risky...everything around here is wood....hope I don't burn the ranch down.. Need to find a time to do this when all the other ranch hands are off in town getting drunk.....

I'm just a guy (64 years old Pagan) looking for a gal to share the journey of life. I lived most of my life in the Rockies (Utah, Idaho, Montana and New Mexico) and recently moved to Prattville Alabama. I was married and divorced twice having two children from the first marriage.

The best way to describe myself is a Leo personality and an independent free spirit. I enjoy hiking, fishing, oil painting, wood carving, reading and slow ball room dancing. My favorite music is contemporary, big band and new age (and NO I do not like Country Western Music).

The past few months have been really lonely, especially in regards to conversation. I am more then willing to re-locate for the right Pagan Lady who lives by the Wiccan Rede. A good way for someone to get to know me is to listen to my net radio show at:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/woodlandstar.

If you want an inside view of me, take a look at my blog entry 'The Quest For Finding Jill.' http://woodlandstar.net/WSblog/?p=764

I think it’s rude to join a tribe just to advertise a product. It you are an active member and come up with something of interest to the rest of the group that’s one thing but we have a few who have joined only to sell their goods. So, would you all like me to delete any posts that seem to be ‘spam’ or just leave them.

Hi Everybody,

My name is Nicole. I recently moved to El Cajon (San Diego County), and am looking to hook up with Pagan friends, or maybe more if the right somebody special comes along. So here's a little bit about me: I'm a single mom, I have a 3 year old son, and a 6 year old daughter. I'm trying to lose weight to get into the Navy on active duty as a Master at Arms, it's a 24 pound count down! I enjoy going to the beach (swimming, wave jumping, fishing, boating/jet skiing), going to the desert (quad, ATC, rhino, jacked up golf cart LOL), horseback riding, rollerblading, going to monster truck rallies or semi (tractor trailer) shows. I enjoy traveling, in fact I used to drive a semi nationwide. I intend to persue a career in law enforcement in the CHP once I put my time into the Navy. I also LOVE role playing games like Dungeons & Dragons and Vampire: the Masquerade. I'm really laid back, open minded, and am easy to get along with as long as you don't pose a threat to anyone I love or my career goals (this means NO drug users!). I like to have the occasional social drink, but it's not a regular habit nor do I intend to make it one. I smoke Marlboro reds and Kools, I'm a romantic, and I have a big soft spot for great danes (a giant breed dog) and sphynx cats (bald kitty!). So there's the scoop on me, if you're interested in talking or hanging out, my email is mylifeforyours@mail.com. I'll give anybody a chance, but if you're looking for more than just friendship I do have standards. Catch ya on the flip side!

Hi all,
I just moved to Chicago and I'm looking to connect with some new friends here in Chicago. I'm also interested in dating; I'm straight, so that means I'm looking for one of those rare single, hetero/bi pagan males. After a few less-than-optimal dates with people of a non-mystical persuasion, I think I'll go back to trying trying to date inside of my spiritual pool.

I'm also fairly new to using Tribe, so I apologize if I don't message you right back :)

I'm looking to get involved in some of the local groups, so if you're not a tall, available pagan man, please message me anyways with upcoming events/rituals/groups in the Chicagoland area if you're aware of anything.

Blessings!

Inland Empire Pagan iso lover & best friend

Eclectic, down to earth gal with tattoos/piercings and great smile enjoying life seeking someone to share those experiences with as well. I enjoy outdoors (camping!), playing mindless computer games, (visiting national parks, walks in out of the way areas, non-starbucks coffee shops, reading, writing stories and a host of other hobbies. I have two cats and a horse who is big enough to carry two people, if you enjoy horseback riding. Not a cowgirl in the least more like a neo-hippy with an edge plus I prefer more eclectic music. Yeah, so I got some extra padding on me. but I workout at the gym and I LOVE it! You don't have too but please be active.

ISO: A best friend and lover; a nice guy who likes to do outdoor activites such as going camping, hiking, exploring local places and the like who is ready for a serious relationship. He must enjoy laughing out loud at bad films (MST3K!!), shake your groove thing at the clubs and/or anywhere. Let's go to the on amusement park rides or travel around California's hidden places and beyond. You MUST love animals: (All horse riding/owning gents welcome!) Most importantly be happy being yourself and be openminded to new experiences or twists on the old ones. Knotts scary farm is on its way wanna go?

I just joined this tribe, it looks like a nice bunch of people. I have been on tribe.net for years, never thought of looking at the singles catagories, but i went to my friend Clive's profile to see what tribes he belongs to and this was in the list.

I live in central Texas (North Dallas area). You will see by my profile that my definition of pagan may be a little different. Literally the term means "a person who is not christian, muslim or jew" and I fall in that category. I do not do cerremonies (except maybe an occassional sweat lodge or lighting a candle for purpose) and shy away from anything that looks like some form of religion. I talk to plants, trees, animals, rocks, see everything as energy that I am a part of.

Namaste'

Beltane this year falls on a Thur. Most folks will be doing their rituals on the week-in. My suggestion is that you do some form of Ritual on the given day. At some point during the day pause, hold sacred space and do ritual. You can do this solo, in small groups or large gatherings. This is a Fire and new beginnings Ritual. In the ancient days this was a day of sexual joining and fertility. Does not matter how you do your Ritual, what matters is that you do it.
Blessings

Phoenix Moon Community Book Store...

Ok everyone, here is the deal....Phoenix Moon
> Community Book store will open
> in Salem, Oregon on 09/20/08. I am currently seeking
> funds and an open
> retail space. Grants are awesome and so are
> Donations. I am seeking
> investors who are wanting to see this up off the
> ground and succeed ( AND IT
> WILL). Josh and Liv are designing the LOGO and Web
> Page. I have the whole
> sellers lined up and looking for more and I am super excited. So the
> Genre of the Phoenix Moon is
> Religion and Ethnic Tolerance: Pagan, Christian,
> Hinduism, Buddism etc all
> welcome. Will have Self help Books and a section for
> pure fiction. Selling
> Candles and Insense, Jewelry, CD's etc.. will have a
> space in the store for
> readings, class sessions. I am wanting input and
> ideas. There will be free
> Wi fi for those customers who are purchasing. It is
> going to be Awesome...
> There hasn't been this kind of Store in Salem since
> Rosebud and Fish. There
> is a giant need for this in every community and this
> community is in dire
> straights.
>
> Blessed Be
>

wickerman burning - new burn in south central pennsylvania!

www.wickermanburning.org

I wanted to let everyone know about a new burn, and I am part of the planning team for it, so my opinion is biased!

The burn is "Wicker Man," to be held Thursday through Monday, Memorial Day weekend; and we have a setup weekend, the weekend before. We are trying to lay the groundwork that will grow into a full-on burn, with an amazing site, roads for art cars, a $4,000 art grant budget and plans for a stupendous effigy.

We will be using Four Quarters as our site, which has the rep as one of the most edgy and progressive non-profit camps on the east coast. They have given us their full support for Wicker Man. Four Quarters has a piped water system, hot showers, flush toilets and of course port-a-potties. Buried power lines for their bio-fueled camp generator, a covered stage and three swimming holes. Lots of camping under tall trees and out in the sun too. And 2 miles of gravelled roads. Four Quarters is located 100 miles west of DC and Baltimore, just off I-68.

We want to develop a burn that is art focused and will support big art. And one that has a vision of the future of burns that is sustainable, ecologically responsible and leaves behind a small foot print. Thus "Wicker Man;" the old celebration of the Green Man and Green energy. We already have over 20 theme camps and art projects registered, and we are just beginning our announcements. We plan to have three "Theme Towns." "Sound Town," where we can run sound all night long, like the Gaian MInd psytrance festival held at Four Quarters. "Sin City" down along the river, a cure for what ever ails you. And "Center Circle," a place for nature and spirit; held inside the amazing stone circle at Four Quarters. (Yes, there is a circle of standing stones and they are BIG!)

And then there is the Man. Planned at 35 feet high our man stands on a round Temple to the Spirit of Fire, a big enough room that you can enter and place your own art and offerings to the burn. The roof of the temple is a deck upon which stands the Man, and people can stand too.. His belly is the Upper Temple, with room for just one person at a time. Each of his arms will hold a flaming fire pot, and we hope, will move as he burns. This is a huge project and we are looking to get as many people involved in his construction as possible. Ground breaking for the Man is Friday, May 9th, and then the next two weekends until he burns.

I could go on and on, but our web site is up, with the first design drawings for the Man, pictures of art grant projects and theme camps. We have a list serve / forum too. So visit the web site at wickermanburning.org for much more info.

"Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust,
Wicker Man Burning, In Fire We Trust."

Well, I'm not a goddess and I don't particularly want someone who thinks he's a god. I tend to wonder where have all the good pagan men gone. I've met the Grand-High Poobah Holier-than-thou guy, and the I-want-to-date-a-witch-cause-I-think-she'll-be-kinky guy, and the free-love-dirty-hippy guy, but all I really want is the mostly normal, maybe a bit neurotic (for character of course), intellectually stimulating, down to earth kind of person...Goddess help me, I know they are out there, I just have to look under the right rock...or tree whatever the case may be....I'm in Indiana, if that matters

Yeah, I didn't think so lol....but I'm new to this tribe so hi everyone! I'm not really into the whole "online-dating" thing, but if I could link up with someone in my area that I could see in person that would be cool. As far as romantic relationships go, I am only looking for men ages 18-early thirties and monogamy is my preference. Everyone else, I could always use more good friends!!

I'm also looking to relocate to NYC next summer, so any contacts from there (romantic or not) would be good. As far as friends go I don't think I could ever have too many. I live smack in the middle of the Bible belt and wouldn't you know, my own mother was my Sunday school teacher. I moved out right after I graduated last year but financial circumstance moved me right back in. Sadly, I'm keeping my religious practices a secret because they've already tried to "save" me too many times...I don't think I could take it again.

Anyway, hope to hear from you...

blessings,

Merry Meet all. It has been a bit since I posted in here and don't have a lot of connections in tribe. My intention is to maybe see if there are any singles in this area who are interested in having a Stockton pagan singles club. I am a single mom of 4 and it is hard for me to get out and especially to find like minded adults to share my time with. I know there are many of us out there, so it may just take a bit of a push to get us together. So please contact me if you have interest in such a thing.

I am a poet, writer of strange philosophy, photographer, dancer who loves the positive magical side in people and places. I can be somewhat forgetful and flaky but am mostly fun to be around! I know my faults and am not looking for anyone to tell me mine or fix mine or to have me fix them (relationship wise, though I am a healer). Just want to make the type of connection we all seek (so I think). I believe we should not be lonely and wait for things to happen, we have to do everything in our power to make our world what we want it to be.

I leave you with a blessing and I hope to make a few new friends.

Shamanic Healing Retreat In Santa Cruz CA

All interested in supporting and or attending a Shamanic Healing Retreat in CA. please, join the Yahoo group I just started:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/APlaceOfShamanicHealing

Volunteers and fund raisers!! Your energy - in time and funding - is needed to help grow the Marshall Creek Center: a place of shamanic healing!

Hello! Come join us in California, near the coastal city of Santa Cruz. Nestled at the base of a narrow forested gulch just outside the town of Ben Lomond is the Marshall Creek Center.

This is one of those unusual places where one can find shamanic healing and direction in shamanic practice. Also available is an uncommon practice of personal growth inspired through shamanic techniques.

http://www.marshallcreek.org

Mailing Address: Marshall Creek Center,
Box 205, Ben Lomond, California 95005

Office Phone: (831) 336-0150

Your assistance is sought in helping to create a rare opportunity in the development of shamanic practice. The Marshall Creek Center, under the inspiration of Dr. Steve and April Serr, is taking shape in the coastal redwoods of California. Here, in an intense spirit-filled gulch near the little town of Ben Lomond, waits the beginning of a Foundation whose mission will be to provide no-cost shamanic work to people all over the United States, and perhaps beyond.

Please, come in and start to read the messages posted here, and gaze at the photos. Then, come and visit! Then, when you are ready, find a way to donate labor or help fund the successful development of a project whose time has come. Marshall Creek is one of the first ‘places’ where, in the contemporary American culture, one can find shamanic practice and help it spill out into the world around us that is so desperate for the ancient nature-centered, tolerant, and compassionate spirituality.

This much-needed ground breaking work will continue to encourage contemporary culture towards a sacred relationship with nature.

Marshall Creek is only one organization, but it is a worthy effort that you can join and where you can truly help.
------------------------------

A Note to all...

Please, remember that ideas and just getting the word out about Marshall Creek Center, is greatly appreciated. All who help in any way are adding equally. As a team, every effort made, helps in reaching the goal.

Bright Blessings,
Jo Wolf

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The above was sent to me and I promised I'd post it. Sounds like it might be fun.
Seeking frienship maybe more with attrative pagan woman who resides in or near these areas of the country. I speard my time between the two states. I'm a writer and a searcher.
Someone who ...well age doesn't matter 35 to 50 if I have to peg it with a number. Age isn't improtant. Sharing interests and passions is what counts in this life. She'd probably also be an artist or a writer or have that creative spark about her.
You may also contact me at solomonscode at yahoo dot com.
This has GOT to be a joke, but still....
I need an unstable woman for a drama filled relationship…
Hi there,
I’m seeking a like-minded woman to share a disastrous 3-9 month relationship with, ending in acrimony, emotional chaos, and possibly legal proceedings.
My name is Lloyd, I live in Chicago , I’m 27 years old, fairly well educated, I hold down a good job and am pretty stable. I’m told I’m fairly good looking, but I’ll let you be the judge of that - I’m generally caring and very honest.
I am looking for an attractive female who will at first give me obsessive love, praise and devotion - but whose paranoia, self-loathing and fear of rejection and abandonment will eventually lead her to alternately push me away and pull me closer in a love/hate cycle that will lead to infidelity, consensual sexual violence, and the eventual emotional breakdown of one or other party - or if we’re lucky - both!
You should:
* be 20 to 35 years old;
* have a history of short, intense, drama-driven relationships;
* enjoy degrading and dehumanizing sex;
* have undergone negative psychiatric evaluations in the past; and
* be willing to threaten self-harm and/or annihilation as a weapon to control your partner and make them stay with you and care for you.
Although not completely necessary, I would prefer women:
* with nice smiles;
* that have larger than average breasts;
* who are married or already in unstable relationships;
* that drink to forget; and
* who have had a previous established diagnosis of Borderline or Dependent Personality Disorder or Bi-Polar Affective Disorder - or who are currently taking Lithium Carbonate, SSRIs, or Tri-cyclic antidepressants
If you think you meet these requirements (and wow, I’m getting excited just writing them!), please don’t hesitate to get back to me as soon as possible. In the meantime, thank you for reading my advert, and do take care.
All the best,
Lloyd
how would you obtain a waking theta state of consciousness?
PSYCHOLOGY General
1.Psychology is the study of the human mind. Most specifically the psyche, most generally All of human behavior.
2. The human Brain is composed of between 40 and 70 different organs, depending upon
how you define differences. These are called brodmanns brain areas. Each brain area
is responsible for specific types of brain processes and mental functions.
3. The human mind has four main operational conditions, they are beta brainwave states, alpha brainwave states, delta brainwave states, and theta brainwave states. Each of these might be further subdivided into waking or sleeping states of consciousness.
4. Beta brainwave states are those in which the dominant area of the brain is the frontal lobes. Alpha brainwave states are those in which the dominant area of the brain is the Mammalian brain or Occipital lobes, and Delta brainwaves states are those where the brain is dominated by the Reptilian Brain or brain stem. Theta brain wave states are
a second waking condition in which the body is healed, or, in which the normal flow of
dominance from top of brain to bottom of brain is reversed, and the bottom of the brain
loads information into the top, which is then experienced as dreams.
5. We have instincts which compel us to seek out gratification of our needs. All behavior is motivated by a conscious or unconscious belief that said behavior will get some need met.
6. Psychology involves first an instinct, which compels a thought process, and then a planning or strategizing session in which the individual uses their maps of reality and belief systems as well as learned knowledge and social conditioning to arrive at an end
product of doing something to get what you want. Schema are maps of reality which we
use as tools to meet our needs .Social Conditioning and personal experience and learning
play vital roles in helping the mind to think up tactics to meet needs.
7. Criminal behavior is behavior which that person believes will get their needs met. Punishment was well demonstrated to have little or no effect on learning curve. What is required for a person to change their behavior is a functional tactic that does work to get their needs met.
8. Groupthink is a social phenomenon of psychology where a group uses false
consensus process to end up behaving stupidly as a group. Groupthink occurs when
people cave into social pressures, where propaganda replaces knowledge or facts, and where group identity is created out of participation in group delusions, lies, codependency, or criminality. Groupthink is how a mob drifts to the lowest common denominator, and why a mob is potentially vicious, evil, and sociopathic. Group
authority ameliorates and dissolves personal conscience, and by having their emotions
manipulated and their social identity threatened, people give up their own better judgment and accept the judgment of the most psychopathic member of the group.
9. Pack Psychology is the psychology exhibited primarily by mammals in small groups
in which 3 primary roles are assumed by social participants. The roles are Alpha- the leader, Beta- the followers, and Delta- the orbiters. In human society that translates in a super-simplified way into bullies, cliques, and nerds.
10. Problem solving psychology must contend against groupthink and pack psychology in the arena of opinion. Problem solving psychology is emotionally neutral and uses the mind and logic to look at all aspects of a problem and try to come up with a viable problem solving process. Problem solving psychology is the worst enemy of both
Rightist and Leftist Dogmatists. True problem solving psychology comes from the place of the radical middle. It takes in all sides and all viewpoints, and it gives each its fair dues
And attention in creating a problem solving process that works from the big picture down through into the nano details.
Get eight freinds together and try it.
If you practice only a few hours, you should start having at the very least an awesome choral group. And if you go on for a while, you should start making transitions into Theta states of consciousness.
This is called Glossolia. It is a reconstruction based on an intrinsic understanding of several key principles about how mind works. I won't try to explain why it works, I will just tell you that it does.
The internal dialogue structure of Theta States of consciousness is harmonic-
musical. We know this as people often experience "hearing a chorus of Angels"
when a Theta condition is induced.
Drumbeats at the same cycles per second as a given state are powerful cues
that can help us to enter altered states of consciousness.
The following is a methodology for entering Theta states of consciousness, designed
by yours truly.
Trybl Vortx Part Two, The Prequal.
Drummers Parlance.
In theory, the Trybl Vortx system by itself should work fine. It is an absolute
description of the variables involved, and a total solution. In practice,
singing like angels is too hard. The requisite skill, or understanding involved
is too far removed from human experience.
Thus, we have "Drummers Parlance", Both a pre-quel game, and a description of a
very specific form of communication.
Drummer's parlance is simply the communication verbally of a pattern or
patterns, which can then receive tonal or musical counterparts. Drummers'
parlance in the strictest sense is non-tonal, or rhythm only. Sounds are
representations of various durations of time.
The duration of time covered by a "A" is a .1 amount of time. The duration of a
"Ta" is.2 duration of time. The duration of a "Ka, or a "Te" is also a .2
representation of time. Then a "Toom" is a .3 duration of time. These
definitions can be stretched, but the general idea is there.
Then, those kinds of syllables are arranged to count time in pattern. The
pattern repeats, and that is what gives us a "Full measure" of time.
For instance:
Tecka Tecka Toom Toom Te Ka Toom Ta La Toom Teck Teck Ta Ta
Tecka Toooma Tecka Ta Te Ka Ta Tooma la Teck Toom Teck la
Ta Tecka Ta Toom Ta Ta Ta La Tecka Tecka Ta Tooma Ta Ta Ta
Toooma Toooma Ta Ta Ta Toom Ta Toom Ta La La Ta Tooma Ta La
Elata Ta Lata Eee La Ta Ee Lata Tooma Ala La Ee La Tecka Tecka
Tee Tooma Tee Tooma Ta Ta Tecka Tooma Elata Tao Teck Toom Tecka Tao
Ticka Ticka Tock Tao Ticka Tooma Tock Toom
Tick Tock Tao Tao Ticka Tao Tecka
prometheuspan
4/19/2001 4:30 PM 4 out of 31
This gets us to 29. I am going to go with the idea that you get my point before
I count to a thousand.
The point is that we have now created 100 "phrases" if we count that high, which
are one or two beats long. The Lengths of the various beats is variable and is
the most interesting part of all of this. If we say that it all just goes from 1
to ten, then Tao-Aum is 13 counts. Rhythms we feel comfortable with are at their
simplest 3 beats long. The heartbeat is Ta-silence-Doom. More complex rhythms go
up into the 20 beat range but not much higher. Any set pattern should repeat
within 20 beats or the human mind won't be able to comprehend it.
Tecka Tecka Toom Toom is six beats, and in the time of the second exploration,
4,1,4,1,5,5 counts long. 20 counts. A pattern at 23 beats;
Tecka Tecka Toom Toom Elati Tati Toom Toom Tecka Tecka Elati Tati Toom.
With a count of 4,1,4,1,5,5,2,1,2,2,2,2,5,5,4,1,4,1,1,2,2,5 for sub- total of
10, 10,11,10,10,10. And a total of 61 counts.
So the point of all of this is to get a mental picture of what is possible for
different kinds of rhythm patterns.
The Idea of drummers parlance is that I should be able to say to a drummer,
"Give me: Tecka Tecka Toom Toom, Elati Tati Toom Tao" And have them go, "Give
that to me three times." And I Go "Tecka Tecka Toom Toom, Elati Tati Toom Tao
Tecka Tecka Toom Toom, Elati Tati Toom Tao Tecka Tecka Toom Toom, Elati Tati
Toom Tao Tecka Tecka Toom Toom, Elati Tati Toom Tao" And Then They are doing it
with me, and it sounds good, because we are both in the same pattern.
Then, I can play my flute inside of the pattern of the drummer, and the next
thing you know, we sound like a rocking duet.
That's only part one of Drummers parlance and it's the most interesting half.
The other half is even more annoying and more like an exercise but it really
works.
This other half is basically as simple as "counting time."
123123123123123123123123123123123
123,123,123,123,123,123,123,123,123
12341234123412341234123412341234
1234,1234,1234,1234,1234,1234,1234,
12345, 12345,12345,
12,1234,123,123,1234,
123,12,123,1234, 12,
And so forth on and on into infinity.
By learning Drummers Parlance, we are learning to think in the kinds of patterns
that we have to use later on in Tick Tock Tao.
prometheuspan
4/19/2001 4:31 PM 5 out of 31
The rest becomes a question of what you are trying to express. The answer is of
course that you are trying to express an emotion, which is really just a state
of consciousness. Realizing this, we are looking at 4 states of consciousness,
and realizing that certain tempos, beats, and tones describe each of these
states. Thus, music can be created specifically to harmonize the individual into
a given state of consciousness.
(But this hasn't been done as far as I know yet, only frauds have tried it,
people who had no real understanding of states of consciousness, or not enough
skill.)
Where do we go from here? We start a pattern, and we show how any such pattern
evolves musically and harmonically, how slow beats have within them the seeds of
faster beats and how fast beats are tied to slower beats. Using the eight roles,
any given pattern can become a total song.
The entire process is in a sense best accomplished in a large group of people.
The 4 track is a great tool, but we don't have 20 earphones and 20 plug-ins for
those earphones for 20 people to participate in recording. So we get the people
singing first, and then once we are really rocking we make our first sample
recording. Then, if we want to, we take that to the 4 track and add in whatever
we want to. Since we don't have 20 people, the best thing to do is to go with as
many as we can get.
The main thing is that everybody has to do his or her homework. They have to get
a real sense of what we are doing away from it all. They have to actually read
the form. Otherwise it's just playing around. The other thing is we have to have
an understanding that we approach things from a very serious level at first.
Sure it leads into fun, but without focus it disintegrates into noise.
I'd love to be able to hang out for 60 years and play with everybody, but I
can't afford to. What has to happen instead is people have to take responsibly
and seriously the information I am giving them for 30 minutes at a time a few
times a week, and then in a week or two it will be the Angelic Choir.
And then we can release the forms and the structure as just a tool that got us
to the place of being able to play at a more sophisticated level.
Thank you for your time and energy. May peace love and light win within us all.
>TRYBL VORTX (Part One)
Tick Tock Tao
Is a specific form for improvisational singing with a group of people. Using
this structure, We move from simple to complex, with each individual adding
another level of complexity. By attuning very specifically to the pattern as it
all ready exists, we evolve the pattern without loosing each other. Thus we can
be together as long as we use the structure.
The Idea here is that we have modeled the timing and harmonics relationships
that naturally exist with each other, and come up with "parts" or "roles" that
reflect these relationships. Then, we model the natural evolutionary path of a
pattern, as it moves from complexity to simplicity, and we find that in essence,
these roles have an order to them in terms of who follows who and what follows
what.
In reality Tick Tock Tao is thus nothing new. It is simply a way of organizing
things that are well understood all ready. When we look at Tribal cultures all
over the world (or what is left of them after being effected by the global
hive... We find that they have very specific formats for social interaction in
different states of consciousness. Whereas we, the global hive, have protocols
structure or format for existing in only one state of consciousness.
The words "Tick Tock Tao" are culled from inside of a trance space. The entire
sequence was at one time used as a trance cue to enter a specific state of
consciousness. The meaning of the words is as follows. Tick refers to time.
Visualize a clock. Music is all about time and timing relationships. Rhythm is
in a sense just various ways of counting time.
Tock has a double meaning, including Talk. Talking, communicating. Tick Tock Tao
is a way of learning to communicate musically, rather than a way of creating
entertainment. We try to treat music from the very different perspective of the
shaman. We have two hemispheres in our brain, and one side is verbal while the
other is musical. The fact of our attunement to pitch and the ability of our
voices to sing indicates that at one point in time in human history, we sang to
each other as a form of communication
I have taken this presupposition one step further, and have tried to understand
how music can be used as a genuine shamans tool for facilitating altered states
of consciousness. Specifically, in Theta states of consciousness, Those states
associated with spiritual experience and perception of subtle levels of reality,
we can expect the human animal to have communicated musically, rather than
phonetically. The reason is simple and is about personal experience.
In Deep Theta states, the energy of the electrical impulses in the brain comes
into phase. Millions of signals that in Beta states of consciousness are just
going off in their own way in their own time and their own direction all
suddenly come together "in phase" or in harmony. The hum that is experienced is
audible to the ear, as the electrical output of the brain no longer scatters
itself in patterns of interference but amplifies itself in patterns of sustained
harmony.
prometheuspan
4/19/2001 4:33 PM 7 out of 31
Tao refers to the idea that we are indeed changing our state of consciousness
through the use of this exercise. Specifically, we are moving from the yang
waking state to the yin waking state. Thus, the Tao of consciousness is
spinning.
The entire poem:
"Tick Talk Tao" said the Druid to the Drow,
"Be here now and keep your vow to remember.
Do you remember, before you were born?
Leaping through the barley and dancing in the corn?"
"Tick Tock Tao" Said the Faery in the Tree
To the Cave monk sentinel of the cave monk Key
"It's the birds and the bees and the omens I see
That opens the portal of perception to me.
(The poem is an instruction for the ego wall to disintegrate allowing the memory
of pre-mortal existence to come into consciousness.)
Drummers Parlance
Tick, Tock, Ti, Ta, Tia, Ticka, Tocka, Toom, Tooma, are all sounds that are used
in verbal communications of drummers' patterns. This is called "Drummers
Parlance" and is a reality model that was presented to me by a master drummer.
The drumming in the community in which I was operating vastly improved as he
introduced the idea to us.
The Essential Idea
The idea is simple. We can communicate the drum patterns verbally and
phonetically. If we can't do that, we shouldn't be drumming. (At least according
to him.)
The reason is that verbal and phonetic communication proves that understanding
exists about pattern. Otherwise there isn't necessarily and in fact true
understanding. Most drum circles are very chaotic and a-synchronized to the
trained ear.
Instructions
In Tick Tock Tao, there are eight roles. The roles are organized into "Alpha"
and "Beta." Which means "Leader" and "follower." (To some degree. As you will
see, the relationship between Alpha and Beta oftentimes gives the Beta more
freedom and more responsibility too.) The role types are Aummer, Drummer,
Singer, and Whisperer.
These roles represent the natural evolution of pattern. We go from tone, to
rhythm, to song, and out away from order into chaos. Thus, the Aummers start,
warm up, then the singers start, and are given time to warm up, and then the
whisperers start. Nobody is really waiting for them, at least not until level
two.
The Whisperers have a special role. They perform slowly the evolutionary path
of all three other types of roles. When they finish, if the groove is still
going, the Aummers become Whisperers. They get to drum, and then sing, adding
their own parts to the more
complex pattern. Once the Aummers have been singing for a while, The drummers
should feel free to sing also.
In this way, the pattern evolves into complexity.
On the other hand, especially while we are learning how to do Tick Tock Tao,
what will often happen is that the pattern will start to break apart. The
Whisperers are the pattern police. If the pattern starts to fly apart, their job
is to make sure that it flies apart completly, blows itself open wide, and thus,
the energy is released.
Even really rocking grooves must eventually come to an end, and it is the
whisperers job to raise the energy out into chaos and celebration. That way a
new groove can start.
I have written role cards to make this very easy. Each person receives a role
card. (If there are more than eight people, buddy up with the person next to
you, unless that person is a singer, in which case, play drummers.)
Tick Tock Tao in the most formal sense does things the hard way by going from
toning to rhythm. It may be easier to start out with a simple pattern of some
kind.
Alpha Aummer
Everything begins with you. You breathe deep and hold a base tone.
For three full breaths, The Beta Aummer matches you. The Beta Aummer Tones the
same tone exactly, and covers you while you breathe. Then The Beta Aummer picks
a new tone, and the two of you take turns. When the drumming starts, you will
begin oscillating between the first tone and the second tone, for the duration
of a full measure. For instance, the drummer will say
"Ticka Ticka tocka teck toom tock
doon" The drummer will do this over and over, and you will tone for the duration
of that pattern a single tone and then another single tone, back and forth. As
things evolve, you can bring in more single tones for the full measure of that
pattern. Eventually, once the singers are really going, you can chop the pattern
into smaller chunks and tone for the duration of those.
Your part may be boring for you, but remember, you are helping everyone else
keep time.
In level two of the game, you will pass your card on and receive a new card, and
a new role. Maintain your old role until you fully understand your new role.
Then switch roles.
Remember to listen to the tone the Beta Aummer gives you, and try to take turns
breathing and toning with them. (Take your breathe on a given beat.)
Alpha Singer
You listen to the Alpha Drummer, whose pattern is slower than the beta drummer.
You listen to the tones created by the Aummers. You Mimic the Alpha drummer
until you are sure you have the pattern. Then, you begin to add tones. Your
first tone should be the same as the alpha Aummers, and your last tone should be
the same as the beta Aummer. Next, you fill in that rhythm with tones. You
create a song that becomes the master tonal pattern. If level two is achieved,
your choices become the
Underlying pattern that everyone else follows in the creation of song.
Remember that you are listening to two elements and blending them. You are
listening to the rhythm first, to pick it up, and then to the tones the Aummers
are using, so that it all stays in harmony and key.
Synthesizing these two levels is the hardest job in Tick Tock Tao and one that
it can't work without. If you end up feeling overwhelmed by the task,
Switch roles with somebody else.
The difficulty of this job is made easier in that your song is with the slow
beat, not the fast one. This is very key to your success. Pay attention only to
the Alpha Drummer,
Not the Beta Drummer. Beta Singer
You listen to the Alpha Singer. They will be singing a slow song. You mimic
their song until you are certain that you have it. You will notice that they are
in beat with the alpha drummer and in tone with the Aummers. Put your attention
next on the Beta Drummer, who is your pal. They are doing a beat that is faster
than the Alpha Drummer. Separating yourself now psychologically from the alphas,
follow the same pattern you have but bring more beats into it and evolve it so
that it is in time with the faster tempo.
This skill is all about taking the singing pattern and adding "flams" and
"perks' to it. If the long pattern is going "Teck Tooma" while the fast pattern
is going "Elata Ladoonta"
Then you are simply adding two syllables. Maybe its "TaTaTa Tooma
Tecka Tooma" for the fast pattern. Now you are essentially multiplying two by
three, three syllables for each of the main two.
Each Of the Alpha singers tones becomes the base note in a chord.
You are filling in the rest of the notes to form a whole chord.
As a Whisperer you mimic the Aummers. This is your chief job, but of all the
jobs, your job changes the most. If the pattern makes it to a full on groove,
with the beta singer completely in for a while, you go ahead and begin to evolve
along the path. Spending
If not, I'd be wasteing my time...
This all appliesto telepathy rather directly, as the art of MIMICKRY that you have to employ, of listening to the group, of not letting your ego interere, but rather, giving over to the true center, these are all the same skills you need for telepathy.
Further, if you attain theta this way, in a social environment, two things will happen.
1. You will be able to hear the angelic choir
2. You will have limited telepathy with the people you are doing it with.
Good luck.
If ANYBODY actually takes me seriously and does it, you could have profound
results in only the next few hours.
I have for myself eight cards, on which I have the eight roles written down.
Thats a great way to go, as then you can switch roles without even talking about it.
However, it will be days before I can attempt to do the actual process, not a few hours, sorry.
Thank you for so much detail.
One question, just so I am clear, I need to be sure to gather seven people together, or may it be a number less than eight including myself?
Respectfully,
There are eight roles in the game as described, I think about four is the bare essential absolute minimum. There is no real maximum, but you will ahve to work out organizing it yourself.
You can easilly have two or three people fill each role.
Group them together of course, and make sure they follow each other.
Best of luck!!
And thank you so very much for getting to it at all!!
The real take off for this area will be the results you achieve.
two more weeks for the area and counting...
Invitation to the Phoenyx Coven of California
Coven of the Phoenyx is a new alternative lifestyle coven in southern,California. It is our desire to become one with the spiritual/physical balance that the God/desses wished for all humanity in the beginning.
We believe:
That the physical natures and desires are inspired and created by the God/desses.
These natures were meant to be together in all aspects of our lives.
Due to dogmatic xtian belief systems, people have been taught to be ashamed of expressing their natural senses.
That you are a special inspiration of the God/desses and your natural self, both physical/spiritual self were meant to be celebrated in a positive and wise manner.
You are NOT born a :sinner."
When people finally realize/scknowledge the connection between the physical/spiritual/natural worlds, there will be a dawning of new wisdom, and enjoyment of life.
The coven will consist of the following practices;
Worship of Bucchus, Aphrodite, and ALL pagan Diety
Eclectic Paganism
Spiritual Dance/Drumming
Love Magick
Polyamory
Naturism
We will also plan field trips for events as well. This Coven will also be multi-tradition in a very liberal sense.
I am a 27-year-old Pagan woman. I have a big butt and I like to shake it, I have wild hair, and I am opinionated, sometimes outgoing, and very loyal to friends. I'd like to meet a Pagan guy who doesn't mind a fuller figure or a wild woman. I am a teacher in Alabama, but I am moving back to my home state of West Virginia in the next few months. I'm a kitchen witch, a lousy belly dancer, a lazy, uninspired writer (these days), and a lover of music, especially classic rock. I can talk about George Harrison for hours. However, I'm also a good listener. I guess that's about it for now.
Hey there people,
Just signed up to this tribe and thought I'd say hello. I've been a Pagan (Wiccan) for about 15 years. I've been a member of a coven for about 2 years now. I am looking to check out the dating scene again but I am looking for freinds with mutual interests too. I will say right off the bat that just because I'm Pagan does not mean I am polyamorous or that I'm looking for casual, non-comitted, sexual relationships. I'm also not into bondage or kinky fetish sort of stuff. Except for the part about being a witch I'm pretty "normal". I'm also not a lesbian or bi so that means I am looking for a man. Check out my profile for further info or send me a message. :)
Blessings
Hello! I'm Charlie, a divorced 38 year old man who lives on the border of CT and RI, though I will be moving into RI by June at the latest.
I am a very down to earth kind of guy. I am not flashy. I am dependable and honest. I'm not a drinker or a drug user, but I do smoke.
I have two sons, 18 and 14, though they don't live with me. I do see them as often as possible, and they are the main reason why I work as hard as I do.
I'd like to meet women who are at least over 25, and would prefer those that have children, as I'm reaching that age where I don't know if I want to sire any more.
I am 5'10" tall, a muscular 240 lbs and I am a truck driver by trade. I have short black hair, a neatly trimmed goatee, a few tattoos and I wear glasses.
Hope to hear from you.
