Sometimes, it is forgotten, that mantra can be used for healing.

Life is vibration and the beauty of the sounds of those vibrations. Like the song of a bird and the playing of a veena. Like the sound of bubbling water and the laughter of a child. These, and much more, are divine communion.

Yoga, "yoking; union", is behind words, in their vibration. This is Mantra Tantra.

Mantra is "man" plus "tra". From MANana (thinking) arises MAN, and from TRAna (liberation) comes freedom.

MAN is pure consciousness, our innermost and true self.
TRA is endless endlessness.
TAN is the pure consciousness of HA with THA (Hatha).

Mantras are excellent for physical healing .. and much more, for they open the door to divine radiance. The moment we release into trust than the inner layers are peeled back, so that Mantra is a doorway that leads to self-realization.

But how to "do" Mantra? There is only one answer to this. Mantra occurs when we reside in the place between - between breaths, between asanas, between all things.

When we are given Mantra training from a guru it comes with Mudras and Bandhanas .. yes .. it is more than a 'saying' or 'chant', for it is a process. A process of cleansing and merging the bodymind and soul. It is the process of Yama and Niyama, Asana and Pranayama.

Without Yama, Niyama cannot be had, and without Niyama, Asana cannot be had, and without Asana, Pranayama cannot be had. And, without Pranayama, Mantra will not be had. Anyone can chant / repeat a Mantra, but few actually do Mantra Sadhana.

Mantra chanting is not Dharana, just as looking at a picture of god is not Dharana, and doing Japa Mala is not Dharana. Mantra must be Dhyana, for it must permeate then sculpt every cell of your being. This is samadhi.

Mantra Dhyana is true Bhakti, and like a true lover, love flows through every cell, again permeating and sculpting. When this happens, there is no difference between the devotee and deity, for they are one in samadhi.

Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi are threaded together to create Samyama. Through the perfection of Samyama comes the light of all knowledge. And like the examples above, this is achieved in steps.

So it is, that once Mantra Siddhi is achieved, the devotee has reached Mantra Tantra. Tantra, then, cannot be something you strive to do, but must just happen, through the process of Mantra Siddhi.

Om Mantra!
