help - out of focus without a new project

topic posted Sat, March 29, 2008 - 11:33 AM by  judih
i really miss having a project that feeds me with power surges above and beyond the call of immediate duty.
that zing used to always help me focus, keep things in proportion, feel energized.

not sure what's going on.
my daily work with special ed kids and other kids with high maintenance needs seems to suck out my creativity.
i still write poetry, but i can't seem to get it up for something more (like painting or singing or, you know...other stuff)
any suggestions?

how can i find my personal generator?

have you tried reading some new books? that always helps me relax & gets my creativity going at the same time. i'm soo addicted to amazon.com because i can get 2nd hand books for cheap.

      hi bats,
yeah, reading's great. i can't really work with amazon for used books cause they seem to have problems with overseas shipping. So, i've got lots of new Amazon things on my shelf - all the Artist's Way stuff - and in fact, Artist's Way was what set me off for about 6 years of good creativity.
maybe i'll give it another go.

      thnx

i found i am able to divert some confused energy thru the hoop (yes, like hula)....the new, weighted hoops are designed for adults and kids alike....not only i have i learned to hoop and dance to work out my over thinking, i learned to make them and then give them away...kids love to hoop and the joy on anyone's face when you teach them the basics and they get it are well worth the time and energy...it's creative, dynamic, healthy, spiritual and communal. plus, you can listen to any music you want , another perk. exercise to favorite music and have fun...
