There are bata drums playing in the background as I write this post. They are
soothing to me.
I feel compelled to post to you before I lay my head on a pillow. Tomorrow
is a very busy day for me and there are some things that I must get off my
chest.
As I have stated, there are sides to Sango that you do not know. As I come
out of a long time of prayer and contemplation of this matter, I realize that
you must not have experienced the fullness of our Baba for yourself. This is
sad omo mi. My heart cries for you. As I prayed, in my city, a sudden
thunderstorm came and lightening lit up the sky in a beautiful display. It
was so magnificant that I had to just turn out all my lights and bask in the
pure glory of it all. The feeling is beyond words.
I am looking at my scales of justice. Not only do they represent justice,
they represent balance and harmony. They represent fairness. This is only a
portion of what Sango is about. This is what I would like to show you. I will
not apologize for my anger, but I will try to be understanding.
This is a religion, a way of life, not a course of study. If you are going
to practice it, then you have to spend much more time on the mat and at the
feet of your elders learning and praying. You need time with Esu. You need
time with your egun. You need time with ori. THEN you go to Sango and ask
HIM to show you the way. Ask Ori to bring balance and harmony to your life.
Whatever you have need of, Ori will bring it. Balance is what you need omo
mi, not another book. Tell Esu "Esu ma se mi O" Esu do not confuse me. He
will listen. He will help you to sort through this if you really want to do
this.
There is a verse in the Odu Eji Ogbe that says "It is bit by bit that we eat
the head of the rat". This is how we grow, as one wise elder told me over
and over again as I was coming up in the priesthood. Little by little we
grow, we evolve, we receive enlightenment. We do not do it overnight.
May you receive this in the spirit in which it is given.
May Ifa bless our quest for knowlege and the Ancestors guide our feet.
