From where does your spirituality come....

Where does your spirituality come from? The need to learn and seek? The need to get closer?

The more pure and spiritually developed a person is (especially if they are actively working towards real spiritual advancement) the more attention they will attract from the negatives to pull them down (see Mara). In other words, the potential of any aspirant generates their level of negative opposition, plus their level of positive assistance, as set by Karmic Law. This is the natural way of things, and is part of the reason why real long-term spiritual development is so difficult. And this is also why those that achieve any significant level of spiritual / psychic development usually live fairly difficult lives, or have a painful past.

    Interesting quote, Madre.

Yesterday, I read another interesting quote:

"The first virtue in a soldier is endurance of fatigue; courage is only the second virtue."

I have always been Spiritual in my life. When I was a first grade student, my ambition was to be a cloistered nun! However, I have learned that everyday-life is JUST as "spiritual," if not more so, than the "ivory tower," although both have their plus's and minus's.

In order to live in the world, however, one must ENDURE. This is something I'm realizing, even more, as I grow older. :-)

I like this post Madre....evolution of a spiritualist is difficult...God knows that I've had my share of deterants, and people who just hate u for free...but I perservere...My spirituality comes form my mother's family...originally form Savannah Georgia....devout catholics, but they never shed those old Youruba roots...I didn't know what they wer talking about when I was little but I understand now...little tings they used to talk about...the glass of water under te bed, the red brick @ the door, cleaning the house during times of hardship or interpreting dreams so they could hit the definately inhereted from my mother's family

You ever feel like you have been beaten into submission by the spirit. So I said to the spirit, I dont want to be attacked, I dont want to attack anyone else. I just want them to go away and leave me alone. The spirits had a completely different view of my purpose and a complete understanding of the person I am suppose to me. So they just kept dropping a load on me until I responded until the fight in me kicked in and i submitted.....everytime I thought I could slow on the spiritual, they give an instant reminder, that it's not apart of the plan.

i am going to take a simple approach

Spiritually come from Self True Self (God/Goddess) in each

Spiritual Cultivation is a Life Long Process bring aware of the cosmic law and how it effects all is important

    3 jewels

buddah - enlightenment of Oneself Becoming a Conscious Being!

Dharma - The teachings I always interpreted this as Learning, and Application of what we learn...Our Path that we live taking our steps towards self realization.

Sangha - Community Of Enlightened Beings where we are all working taking strides toward the positive growth of all! Not just a community of Enlightened beings but a community working towards all people on this Earth are Free IN SPIRIT!!

Interesting Post because my HISTORY is the same on many levels.
I also went to Catholic school and church. I was also an Alter Boy. (hahaha)
However, my people who live and grew up in the south (Mississippi and Louisiana)
My Great Grandfather (mother side) was a healer and my Grand Father on (father side) Clairvoyant.
However, when I came to this religion. I was an unknown, but it fed me.
It still feeds me, all the way down in my soul. I've always known that my people where Root people, spiritual people, including stick folk.
At first I had visions of woods with the trees that had roots sticking up out of the water. Then it was the old wooden houses.
Cauldrons out in the woods people and songs being song. People told me this was a part of my life. Now we learn from all that we see
and do. You learn from the living as well as the dead. We travel the world of light as well as darkness. Its not just the words, but the signs that move us from place to place. Yes I will agree that its blood of your blood as well as brothers and sisters of life that will continue to move us forward. Yes the spirits that work with us the energy and virbrations that allow our interaction will come full circle. Let them that have an ear let them hear.

The fun part is I learned about the religion right when I had my first child.
Oh! yes, she had an imagnary friend. We would ask about the little girl and talk with my daughter about her. When my daughters got their Cofa it was told by us that the little girl grew up with my daughter and is sill with her. My daughter told us she had a twin sister. Of course when her sister was born both of their baby pictures were just alike. (twins)
I understand you situation because, my wife use to see spirit all the time as a child. She hated it because she could not tell what was real.
Now she is in this religion and is like wow!!! Working with the spirits, she is a child of Oya.
Yea, it is hard when its been you all your LIFE.
However, what moment in your life you knew this is my calling, my path to walk no matter what?
Yes, you have many stories about your spiritual life, but what was it that made you come over to the other side.
Our family had us in church and everything. people talked about that crazy girl over there stuff. yea, yea, yea
Now what I know you know the answerLOL

                      Kiambote everyone,

I remember a while back having a conversation with a brother in the religion and the subject of "spirituality and how it affects us" was brought up. These are religions of affliction and the closer we are to are spirits the more they affect us, was the precise topic at hand. I tend to agree that the more you work the closer they get and the truer you are to the roots the more the affect you in every way. Like the person who has a spirit that had a maimed leg and the person now has problems with the same leg, for example. Does anyone else also see this same occurance? I thank my spirits everyday for the health to keep going and thank god that we are able to have another day to unravel this world's mysteries.
