I want to say THANKS for the great meals your Agape provides at the opcc center in Santa Monica. They are wonderful and many times they are the ONLY decent meal we as homeless people get.
I will warn of this. I know it can be very hard to deal with some homeless people. But please ask the people who come to serve, help out, offer hair cuts and other servies to be very careful of what they say. WORDS HURT. Not matter how much we think they are in fun, they HURT. They can also make some look at this very important service you offer and your center in a differnt light.
Not all of us out here are on drugs, drunks or just lazy. Please dont lump us all together as one. We arent and I for one do not appreciate anyone acting like I am.

I am homeless after caring for my parents and lost my job in doing so. I lost my own home and the home I grew up in.
I hate it when people just treat me like some lazy bum who isnt fit to look at. I hate it even more from people who do it under the mask of "good" and "God" but treat me just as bad if not worse then everyone else.
I've been to the feeding at the opcc when agape is there and I wont go back for this very reason.
The guy that cuts hair should just know when to stop with all the lame remarks and comments. You're very right Janet and I am glad you posted this.
Funny, I was all set to maybe even visit agape. After yesturday, what would be the point. I get enough crap from people on the street. I dont need it from "new age" church folk
