Hi guys,
Below is the show schedule for the Dance Together Alaska Festival. Nomadia is opening Sunday night and we'd love to see some friendly faces in the crowd. We are doing the opening and closing dances from our Asian-inspired set that we performed last weekend for Cirque Dreams. It's one tiny step in our art form being presented and taught side by side with more traditional occidental dance forms, please support if you can. The more connections and friends we make and the more we present ourselves as a vibrant creative force to be reckoned with, the more we as belly dancers will be considered as an important and viable part of the larger dance community.
In addition there are many wonderful workshops. They cost $10 for one or $35 for 5 and you can choose from Hoop Dance (which I'm planning to hit), my veil workshop, Afro Brazillian, contact improv, dance for musical theatre, hip hop, jazz, modern, ballet, lindy hop, swing, salsa, morris dance, casino rueda and many additional wonderful choices. If it weren't for my schedule conflict due to "Ashlad and the Good Helpers" at 3:00 p.m., I'd be going to a whole bunch of the workshops!!
