Other groups from different regions, sometimes do a camp together. A group back east will load a container and have it dropped at the event. Some groups do a theme camp and are more at the center of the event, not my preference. I like to camp in the quieter area away from the sani-huts. The ring on the very outside get a lot of vehicle traffic and is dustier then the rest of the area.
It makes sense to organize. You need a shade structure that won't blow down in high winds. Tents with rainflys don't provide enough protection. Some kind of galley system is needed. Stove and a way to wash dishes. A shower is almost a must, but they are getting picky about what you do with your graywater. It hard to evaporate off a large quanity of water used by many people. We can prearrange a water truck delivery for during the event and put our greywater in barrels to take out by pickup.

Re: Should we do a camp together?
Sat, June 16, 2007 - 6:42 PMIf there is a camp, I'd love to know. I'll be in Camp Glow Fuck Yourself with my Portland crew, but I want to do an article about Alaskans at Burning Man, so please let me know if something happens that doesn't get announced here. -

Re: Should we do a camp together?
Tue, June 19, 2007 - 8:24 AMThis expat will be somewhere in the back 40 with a couple native portlandlandlanders, but I'd love to wander around and catch up with anyone from the home country I can...Right now I have a tentative drunken interview on Radio Elektra which should degrade rapidly, I'll be doing my best to convince everyone they're about to be eaten by bears.

Sun, August 12, 2007 - 2:16 PMNice! Let us know. I'm basically split between two camps this year at esplanade at 7:30 and the other not sure the address yet. keep us posted - next year I'll be putting in the app and the whole thing to make sure there is an official Alaska themed camp - there are a few others from here in Fairbanks that are probably gonna be helping. -
