Well, I heard a little info back from BLM and they should have further clarification for me by sometime this next week. The biggest deal I forsee as a problem is if we want to setup a sound system for music - which I would like to do. I'd like there to be the opportunity for bands/DJs/drummers/performers/etc to play.

Unfortunately, I went up scouting in the White Mountains and didn't realize that a large scale wildfire had ripped through there last summer leaving a rather apocalyptic looking waste of the former wilderness.

I haven't sought any sponsorship at this point so the first go at it might be a rather laid back affair - if anyone in here lives in the Fairbanks area and has some kind of pull or ideas please let me know. I realize that at least a little bit of money will be necessary to pull anything off - and I'm not opposed to helping foot the bill - just not sure I can organize a get together if it turns out more than a dozen or so people might show up!

Also - if anyone knows of someone with private acreage that would be willing to host such an event please forward that information to me. I'm more than willing to do clean up, prep, etc.

I really want to make this a reality and start an annual event as an alternative to/extension of other festivals like Burning Man, Shambhala, etc. I know it is short notice to do it this year but if we can at least start small and work up from there it is something!
