Wow I noticed that some dancers in the Nutcracker are using hoops...white with red stripes like a candy cane. I don't know where in the show as I can't see it from the orchestra pit, but I saw some dancers warming up with them..jumping through them and twirling them around. Looked very cool!

Sat, November 24, 2007 - 1:52 PMI went to the show yesterday and they don't really hoop. :( It is more of a prop. The lead male performer did spin it around and jump through it pretty impressively. Morganna, Icouldn't see you, but I am sure you are a great addition to the orchestra. It sounded wonderful!! -

It proved to be too much this year for them, but they said they were interested for next year in incorporating hooping into the show. Wouldn~~t it be great if it caught on all across the country with a Hoop dance a part of the yearly Nutcracker performance!
