I must say that my trip was AMAZING! The scenery was so beautiful and working with some Fun and Talented people in the NW was great! I started by shooting with Katherine @ Cannon Beach during Sunset. She was beautiful and we were very fortunate to have a clear evening and a colorful sunset. When I got to Alaska, I hit the ground running with a Senior shoot with Bridget's Daughter and a fun horse! The next day, I worked with Joanna, Melissa, and Jody at Girdwood and Portage! The backgrounds were surreal and I think the Images will be just breath-taking! I was also able to Work with Joanna's family and her 3 grandsons! That was definitely a fun shoot with some portraits that I am sure they will cherish for years. The last shoot I did while in Alaska was with the Daughters of Shiva! for the shoot, we went to the Palmer Visitors center and Gardens and the Ladies worked it in front of some beautiful Flowers and a HUGE raspberry bush! All in all, it was an amazing trip and I look forward to visiting both places again and again and again! Thank you everyone for your support and if you missed out on working with me, be assured... I will be back!

Just a reminder that Glenn Brogan will be in Alaska June 21-22nd through June 28th, and is offering photo shoots for Dancers, Troupes and Family. You can see his fabulous photography through Beyond Pairadice in Tribe as well as in several personal profiles, including mine. Glenn is offering , for dancers, a sitting fee of $300.00 for two and with each additional person, the increase will be $50. This includes a high definition CD of all your photos, as well as all the copyright use for those photos. If there are several of you who only want a single sitting for just one person, I will try to arrange the shoot to accomodate those people, so that the price will remain fair for all. Glenn is offering a family shoot for $300 which will include all the photos as well as copyright use.

Some of the questions asked at the first posting:
Change of Costume: Absolutely! More than one?...we would need to assure the costume changes were on a time frame, but please email me so that I know what to schedule.
What is included in troupe photos: Photos of the troupe as well as individual photos of each person in the troupe.
Can a troupe use the family shoot: No. I know we are all "family", but a family shoot is designed and completed within a certain time frame. Troupe photos are taken over a longer period of time and have many more photo opportunities.
Where is Glenn going to be: Tentatively, he will be in the Anchorage/Girdwood/Seward area and possibly Fairbanks, if there is interest. He will also be taking photographs of our beautiful state while he is here and enjoying the scenery.
Where will the photos be taken: That depends on what type of photographs, outdoor, studio, near a waterfall, or if you have a special area in mind that does not take him to far from his other photo shoots. I am open to suggestions or in the event that your troupe has an idea, we will work with you to make this a fabulous event.

IMPORTANT: Please let me know, as soon as possible, if you and or your family or troupe is interested. Those that have already contacted me...Please contact me again so that we can confirm your shoot and go over the particulars. Deadline for appointments for photo shoots is May 7, 2008. Thanks Ladies!!!

I'm coming to Anchorage to sell my hoops at the Anchorage Craft Mafia Smackdown (yes, that's really what it's called!) and I would like to organize a Cosmic Hoops workshop. I'm putting the word out to you folks first.... still have yet to make the concrete where/when plans. But, it will be the weekend of February 16-17. Probably on the Saturday, as the craft fair is all day Sunday.

Anyone interested?

Since I've been to Anchorage last time, I've taken a Hoop Path workshop, and taught another series of my Cosmic HoopDance classes. I'm excited about the new material I have to teach, and mostly excited just to connect with hoopers in Anchorage and inject a little more HoopLove into the scene. Seeing that the workshop will be the weekend after Valentine's Day, it seems like a good time for HoopLove!

I don't know where in the show as I can't see it from the orchestra pit, but I saw some dancers warming up with them..jumping through them and twirling them around. Looked very cool!

I was thinking of a two-hour workshop during the day, probably on Saturday, and then a hoop jam that night.

Would anyone be interested/available?
What time might work best?
Any ideas what spaces might be available?
Let me know what you think, and maybe we can make something happen!

Hooping has been a new adventure for me this year, one that I've found a lot of pleasure in. There's a kind of serenity in hoop dancing that I haven't found elsewhere.

I think Anchorage is ready for a hoop dance class, at least a workshop, or even just some play dates. I'd love to get some feedback from all of you -- are YOU interested? Do you know someone who might be?
