I have been wondering lately, if anyone has used magick for healing your self or others. Of course one big aim is the great work, which could be seen as a form of healing yourself and by extension, those around you.

I am particularly interested in hearing from those using the chaos magick meta-paradigm, but any traditions use and updates, info on its effectiveness would be much appreciated.

  • alphabet of desire

I have been working on an alphabet for some time now. I still haven't really started, its still kind of in the research stage.
I think it fits here with healing because its such an increadible self exploration. It has gotten me to thinking about my reasons and goals for such an endevor. This can lead to some great discoveries and positive changes in ones path.
For one thing, the very emotions you chose to sigilize and other commonly used sigils become quite revealing.
I have been busy going to school lately, so my progress has slowed down. What has added to it though is the depth of discovery in my psych and counseling type classes.
The alphabet of desire process seems like a great sort of self therapy/ discovery of sorts. It kind of reminds me of C.G. Jungs mandalas. He drew, painted and built them of stone. He built a house that was a giant mandala of sorts.

Has anyone seen a parallel between ritual and counseling / therapy sessions? I am thinking of the structure particularly but any other parallels that anyone has heard of?

How about this whole trend towards verbalizing and/or writing down your goals? Seems like a simplified ritual or spell no? Ideas found in, "The Secret."

It is interesting in how it differs from sigils. As in sigils you are stating your desire, creating the sigil, firing it then forgeting it. The write down and verbalize your goals way doesn't recomend forgeting, But then they are not seeding the unconcious. I usually use a hybrid of the two. I just let go of lust for result, but I still work towards my goals of course, thus not forgeting them.
