Thanks to everyone who was part of Night of 1000 Goddesses. We were all looking forward to the show for sure, but something happened that night...some kind of alchemy (cut me some slack...I love this word/concept/metaphor, and it's so dang relevant so often) that was beyond what we had even expected. All of the artists involved (including the non-dancing ones) as well as the audience made this happen, by our trust in the dance and our vision of a larger context for expression and creativity.

If you're interested, check out the N1000 tribe for some thoughtful and eloquent praise of the show (as well as silliness: just as necessary) and some photos:

I'm posting this because I'm proud to have been a part of this event -- not for myself, but because I'm thankful to have been among such inspiring artists and I'm thankful to Zan for all her hard work and faith. She put together an event that showcased the variety and strength and potential of our dance form, and even more importantly, one that modelled real community -- a concept that's talked about a lot and not practiced enough. The event was amazing because we all worked together at the same time that we each honored our own voice and expression of the dance. This happened effortlessly, it wasn't premeditated -- we were all just ready for it, because it's something we truly believe is possible and positive. I don't mean to speak for the other dancers, but y'know what I mean here?

Thank you.
