Merry Meet and Blessed Be

Hello all, I am one who is known as Odellin Hundai. I don't use my given name any more (Richard Hudnall) because I am no longer ashamed or afraid of being a worshipper of the Goddess. I have been a Wiccan from the age of 14 and am now 20 years old. I know that there is much I must learn about Wicca and Witchcraft, and I am willing to learn whatever can be taught to me. I became a Wiccan because my uncle one day decided he wanted to teach me what I had been yearning to learn. I am no longer under his tutelage because he is no longer a Wiccan which is why I have been solitary for 5 years, I am finally trying to get back with others and learn from others, which is why I am here. I hope to speak with all of you and learn from those who have something to teach and are willing to.

Blessed Be and Praise to the Goddess

i have been searching and searching, but i have yet to find a listing to the qualities of tulip petals. What type of incense can they be used in? What healing properties, if any, are they associated with?

Ok, i have no idea what to do with my altar in between sabatts. Never mind the fact that here in southern Ontario, there are no flowers that are seasonal this time of year. Any suggestions and comments would be appreciated

I have been interested in Wicca ever since I first learned of it. I have the gift of being an emotional empath. I believe my Grandmother was psycic (I know there is a more Wiccan name for it I am assuming). She gardened alot and I just remember her being real earthy and glowing. Unfortunatly she passed away before I could ask her about such things.

I want to know and learn so much more about it but I have a hard time with book learning. If I want a local practionar to guide, mentor and teach me how do I go about finding one?

I found this some where

1. When you're sworn in in court, you bring your own grimoire.
2. Painting yourself blue, spiking your hair, and dancing naked around a bonfire sounds like large amounts of fun.
3. When asked if you believe in God, you ask, "Which one?"
4. You know what "widdershins" means. You know when to apply it.
5. You think The Mists of Avalon should be a religious text. You use it as such.
6. You have friends who say they are elves. You believe them.
7. You commit blasphemy in the plural.
8. Upon dying, your first thought is, "Darn it, not AGAIN."
9. When you say "Mother Nature," you don't mean it in an anthropomorphic way.
10. You know that there are exceptions to the laws of physics. You've caused them.
11 The first thing your guests say is, "My, that's a nice...altar...you have there."
12. You understand the symbolism behind a maypole.
13. You've ever ended a phone call with "so mote it be."
14. Your children go around telling people that "the Goddess loves you."
15. On Halloween, you yell "Happy New Year!" at passers-by.
16. You know that Christmas trees were originally pagan symbols. That's why you bought one.
17. You have a frequent buyer card at the local antique bookstore. The proprietor of said bookstore picks out anything to do with the Celts and saves it for you.
18. You think Mercedes Lackey should be a cultural icon.
19. Gaia is NOT the lady on Captain Planet.
20. You have an entire spice cabinet and you don't cook. You know that laurel and bay leaves are the same thing.
21. In Religion 100, you were disappointed because they didn't cover YOUR gods.
22. You know that there is a right way and a wrong way to draw a pentacle. You can explain the difference.
23. You've spent the last year and a half looking for a familiar.
24. You talk to trees. They talk back.
25. You know dragons and fae exist. You've seen them.
26. You've been seen talking to cats. They talk back. You understand what they're saying.
27. You've seen "The Craft." You know where they were making stuff up in "The Craft." You have explained this to other people. You can do it better than they did it in "The Craft." You know it's a load of crap.
28. You're reading this page. You understand what it's talking about. You have more to add.

its ok to lauf out loud injoy

I don't know if I am the first one to bring this up, but they are trying to get 'In God We Trust' in the schools. I want to try and get together some petitions or lists of names or something of that nature of everybody you can think of who will fight against this. We need to do something about it before they start teaching that instead of evolution, god created everybody. I'm not trying to be extreme and I know it sounds like I am, but this country has come so far because of the freedoms that we have, once they are taken away (and believe me they will be once this happens) then we will literally be screwed. So please if anyone can do anything, or start getting people to sign against this please do, we need to nip this in the nose before it spreads further than it has.

Hello all, I am one who is known as Odellin Hundai. I do not use my given name (Richard Hudnall) for reasons that I will share with any who are curious. I am very spiritual and devoted to being a Wiccan, and have been pushed away by others for it. However I have no animosity because I love all of the Goddess' children, no matter who they are, or what they believe. I have been Wiccan for 6 years now and will tell the story behind it to any who want to hear it (It's too long to say in an introduction :P). I have been solitary for over 5 years now and wish to meet or even speak with others who know of things I do not. I would love to find others who are in my area maybe, or even close to me to get together and I can't wait to see what this group has to offer.

Hi, I hope you don't object to the fact I've 'joined' you here. I'm just getting to grips with tribe.net and hope I'm doing this right? I hope to use tribe.net to expand my circle of acquaintances and develop my knowledge of Wicca practise and this seems to be the place to be from what I've been reading.

If anyone is interested, a bit about me: I'm a writer and poet but make no money from it and am currenly 'seeking work' aka, unemployed!

I've been a Wiccan for some 7 years now though I had strayed off my path a little in recent times, a situation I am currently rectifying!

I realise I'm being a bit presumptuous having just joined but I've taken the liberty of recommending Kit Berry's 'Stonewylde' books to you. I've nearly completed the first one [in a planned series of 5] and have been blown away by it. The series is shaping up to be as compelling as Jean Auel's 'Earth's Children' series.

Thanks for your time and interest reading this.

Blessings to you all,
Myrddin

Just a quick post to introduce myself. I am Rhiannon, and I come from the Isle of Man. I am currently and eclectic solitaire, but I would love to meet other Wiccans/Pagans everywhere but especially on the Isle of Man.

I am a year into my path and still have loads to learn, so I shall be visiting regularly.

Hope to get to know you

Blessed Be

*~*Mabon Incense*~*
Recipe by Scott Cunningham

2 parts Frankincense
1 part Sandalwood
1 part Cypress
1 part Juniper
1 part Pine
1/2 part Oakmoss (or a few drops Oakmoss bouquet)
1 pinch pulverized Oak leaf

Burn during Wiccan ceremonies on Mabon (the Autumnal
Equinox, circa September 21st), or at that time to attune
with the change of the seasons.
Incense, Oils & Brews" by Scott Cunningham, Llewellyn
2 cups dried Honeysuckle
1 cup dried Passionflower
1 cup dried Rosebuds and Petals
1/2 cup dried Pine Needles

Decorating items:

Hazel, Corn, Acorns, Oak, Wheat Stalks, Cypress cones, Pine cones
Myrrh, Sage, Pine
Orange, Dark red, Yellow, Brown
Acorns, Pomegranates, Pine Cones, Baskets of fallen leaves
Breads, Corn, Cornbread, Beans, Squash, Apples, Roots (carrots, potatoes, onions), Cider

Mabon is the time to honor the Ancient Ones and the Spirit World. Traditional Pagan activities at this time include fermenting grapes to make wine and the decorating of graves. Also traditional is to wander wild places and forests, gathering seed pods and dried plants. Some of these can be used to decorate the home or altar.

Make a Indian Corn bundle to hang on your front door
Make a rattle from an empty gourd and some seeds.
Make a dried leaf mobile
How about a pine cone pyramid?
Weave some wheat into fun shapes

Tradition sees the Mabon Wreath as the primary symbol of this time of year, the remembrance of the wheel of the year, the wheel of life, and the promise of rebirth, both in the spring and in our next lives.

Or make a pretty fall bouquet of leaves, pine cones, corn and grapes to leave on a grave as a gift to the ancestors.

Celebrating Mabon
By Jill C. Yarnall

Altar and Home: It is appropriate to decorate your altar and home
with traditional Autumn colors of gold, orange, red, and brown.
Decorations might include pumpkins grouped on the doorstep, dried
flowers and wheat attractively arranged in a stone vase, Indian
corn hung from the front door, fall leaves scattered across the
altar, and baskets of apples.

Fresh Apple Candle Holders: Apples can be easily made into clever
candle holders by making a circular cut into the stem area and
hollowing out a space big enough to hold a votive candle. Place
the candle snugly in the hole and light. This decoration is
especially appropriate because apples are sacred to Pagans for the
pentacle shaped arrangement of the seeds inside. To see this for
yourself, slice an apple in half from side to side rather than from
top to bottom.

Mabon Thanksgiving Dinner: To remember and honor the harvest,
Mabon is designated as the Witches' Thanksgiving. Gather friends
and family on the Equinox for a harvest celebrations in grand
proportions. Serve roasted squash or turkey; mashed potatoes;
fresh whole grain bread; vegetables; corn bread stuffing; cranberry
sauce; pumpkin pie; hot spiced cider; and wine.

Gourd Rattle: It is easy and fun to make a dried gourd rattle.
Follow these easy instructions: allow the gourd to dry completely;
drill a hole in the area opposite the stem; pull out the fiberous
material inside with tweezers; fill with a few dried beans; glue in
a stick that fits the hole for a handle; and decorate if desired.
This instrument can then be used for ritual, private meditation, or
drumming circles.

Gourd Dipper: To make a gourd dipper, take a fresh gourd; slice
off an area to be left open for dipping; scrape the insides clean;
and allow to dry in a place protected from insects and high
humidity. The dipper can then be used for scooping grain, herbs,
seeds, incense, or other magickal items.

Hayrides: Organize or attend an old-fashioned hayride to honor
and celebrate the harvest.

Harvest Platter: Choose a large platter on which to form this
centerpiece. Arrange dried or silk leaves, pieces of wheat, nuts,
small Indian corn, small gourds, sugar pumpkins, and candles
together on the platter. This centerpiece can be lit before each
meal to remind all those gathered around the table that the final
harvest is near.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Depending on when the leaves turn in your area, beautiful multi-colored
leaves can be dipped in paraffin, to be used for decoration. Quickly dip
the leaves in melted paraffin, and put them on wax paper. When the
leaves are dry, you can put them in a huge decorative jar with a sigil of
protection carved lightly on some

enjoy lol E

the apartment where i live is full of negative energies. when my ex moved out he was very not happy with me and said a lot of scary things. i did a cleansing, which helped some, but i'm still feeling icky about it. also, i'm moving soon and want to give my new home some spiritual protection. i'm kind of at a loss on exactly what i need to do though, so any adivce would be much appriciated.
thanks!

so how do people keep the goddess in their lives

I am wondering how people keep the goddess and magic in their lives on a day to day basis. I mean how do you keep that at the center? It seems so terribly easy to just forget in the hustle and bustle of daily living. Life is, for the most part, so ... horribly anti-magic. And we are constantly bombarded by non-pagan, non-goddess stuff. I especially wonder how people handle those situations when you are dealing with one of those ultra-rational business type guys (or women) who just make the whole world seem dead. You know, the managers who are always talking qabout the 'bottom line'. Despite being a pretty strong woman I find myself and my beliefs just shrivelling up sometimes when I'm dealing with those poeple.

I need help accepting the fire element. I'm not exactly sure if my beef is just with the people who use fire to destroy things, not meaning to as well as meaning to, or if some of it is the fire itself. A fire doesn't usually just break out randomly, without a human starting it. I don't know, if you could just give me some information about anything really dealing with this element that would be cool. If you could give me some information about the gods or goddesses I would worship if I am for peace & love nature. I'm not exactly sure if that's pretty much what pagans are, but oh well. Yeah, I'm stupid, which is why information would be good. Okki thanks.
