Second Annual Food Drive Alleycat

I'm begining work on having this event again this year. If you weren't around last year, this was an alleycat race where the manifest contained a list of food items, a list of grocery stores as well as some other checkpoints on it. Riders had to purchase a food item off the list from each grocery store and provide a receipt. All the food was then donated to Channel1 food bank.

The format for this year is similer, but I want to get more food. That's all I'm gonna say.

I'm also getting sponsors to donate prizes. I'm in talks with some great companies. One of the first to sign on is Chicago WIG. www.chicagowig.com

    this would be a really good one to promote the hell out of. having the charity aspect to it means that people who aren't neccesarily AS interested in the biking aspect might still come to support. also, more businesses/etc will probably be willing to hang posters and the like. hopefully we could get a good crowd and collect a lot of food, side benefit would be a good chance to recruit for future months' races.

    hwne you figure out what month this is going to be gunnar, make sure to get some posters to us (I'd volunteer, but i love all of your poster/hand bill designs so much, i couldnb't do them justice)
    I've been trying to hand out as many of the last set of fliers that you designed as i can, but like i said, advertizing this one might go a little easier.

      I guess I forgot to mention that last year this was on Labor Day. I'm planning to have it again on Labor Day, and keeping this (hopefully) a yearly event.

          Oh geez.... after making such a big flippin' deal about having this on Labor Day, I MAY have to switch the date on this. Something came up where I may be out of town that weekend. It's still up in the air though. Maybe it wont happen.

          The other option is that I set everything up, and if I'm out of town, someone else run it. Any volunteers if this is the case?

          Like I said though, it may ok.
