I've decided to start my first fixed gear project bike. My road bike is a 59cm. Does anyone have a frame that they are willing to part with? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: looking for a frame
Fri, June 8, 2007 - 2:05 PMFind Ron. Or start sifting through the trash behind apartment buildings. I just found a Schwinn Continental that is in pretty good shape lying next to a dumpster in the Kutzky Park area. It had flats on both wheels and the brakes were pulled from the frame which made my work in removing them easier. Whether you want a newer bike or an old one is the first question. Myself, I think I prefer the old recycled sort of style. -

Re: looking for a frame
Wed, June 13, 2007 - 2:26 PMI just saw (4:00pm) one laying behind the apartments that back up to Civic Center Drive across from the Barlow Hy-Vee. From the road it appeared to be in the neighborhood of a 59cm. It is old and steel and blue, but i am sure it would work. I would have picked it up, but then I would have to answer more questions about why I keep bringing home strays. -

Wed, June 13, 2007 - 4:13 PMThanks! I went right over and picked it up. Sadly, smaller than I'd like. I have accumulated two strays since my quest began. Anyone interested in seeing them? -

Re: looking for a frame
Thu, June 14, 2007 - 7:01 AMI just pulled everything off of an old royce union. It is a 20" road frame, perfect for a fixed or a single speed. I would imagine that it might fit somebody who is around 5'10" or 5'11". It's free to anybody who wants it.
