I am going to Alabama on the 9th of June and I am taking along my bicycle. i am flying Northwest and I am wondering what the best way to transport my bicycle would be. Do I check it and fly it on the plane or use Fed-Ex or DHL or something like that? Anybody?

Wed, May 30, 2007 - 10:33 AMFind a shop and fed ex it to them. MW will charge you $100 each way. Theyt don't want bikes on their flights. -

Wed, May 30, 2007 - 2:03 PMYeah, that worked great the last time we flew. Most shops don't mind.

Re: Traveling with bicycles...
Wed, May 30, 2007 - 2:09 PMI just spoke with a guy from a mountain bike shop in Dothan, Alabama (that's 1200 miles from here) and he said it wouldn't be a problem. Also, I checked with DHL and it looks like they can ship it for around $30 each way. Not so bad I guess, thanks for the tips. And, thank you the Almanzo 100 went really well, so well in fact that this is coming around the bend. www.forthandback200.blogspot.com -
