My old band is thinking about adding a keyboard player, so maybe i will mutate into one. I haven't played with these guys with any regularity since the late 80s. . .used to play lead guitar. . .but they got back together and have been playing regularly for about eight years. .
I'm looking at the Micron synth. I just want something simple and small.
Don't need a lot of bells and whistles, but would love to have B-3 emulation. . .but that's too much to ask for a inexpensive keyboard. . .
If you are not familiar with the Hammond B-3 organ. . .wow. . .it is a totally great lush, deep chunky peanut butter sounding organ.
The micron has 37 keys which is plenty for me, like I said. . .I want something small, I will never be Chopin ( sigh ) but I could use it effectively for treatments and hooks, etc.
. . .this one does good classic synth emulation and also has a couple of great organ emulators. . .but it doesn't do piano so well, darn!
Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing??
here's what they look like. . .
