Go go go, BSG! I'm almost done with season 2, this series has made a fan out of me. Anyone else out there like it? I know Enrika has watched at least some BSG, but she is out and around somewhere in zee world.

I'm going to be posting some BSG screencaps to my personal photo album in a few minutes.

It's true that I've been watching BSG lately, but I initially only watched the first five or so eps of season 1, then went straight into whatever season we're in (and I've missed one or two of these as well). I totally screwed it up, and now when I go back and watch the whole thing from the beginning (which I'm planning to do very soon), I'll already know a bunch of things I'm not supposed to know for a long time.

      *sigh*

If only I could unsee what I've already seen...

Those posters are great, BTW. :)

Oh, Enrika, bad bad bad. Yes, I can see how that would totally ruin it!

at first i was skeptical, because i used to watch the original as a kid......and it was cheesy........then i watched the pilot of BSG and i was hooked.

"will not make the same mistake as enrika did"

Just by way of an explanation, the only reason I began watching the current season when it premiered a couple/few months ago, without having watched more than the first few episodes of season one, was to humor a lover in Phoenix, into whose pants I was attempting to gain repeated access.

            Obviously, men make me stupid.

Actually, I'd like some advice from the BSG watchers in here: I've seen the first few episodes of the latest season, but then I missed one or two, and have a couple/few saved up on my DVR. My friend in Phoenix has the entire DVD set from season one forward, and is going to send them to me to watch in order. Should I just delete the eps that are on my DVR right now, and not watch any more current eps until I've gotten through the rest of the series? Or have I already screwed everything up beyond repair by watching the first few eps of the current season, and now it doesn't matter if I continue watching them or not?

              Now there's a dilema!
              (((Enrika)))

                *laughing*

Which? The BSG issue, or men making me stupid?

                  Yikes - a dilema of a dilema!
I was referring to the BSG issue, but men making you stupid could be seen as the greatest dilema ; ) Or would that be a dichotomy?
                  • This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.

I don't know if it's a dilemma or a dichotomy, but I certainly have a litany of effects that I could recite from a lifelong susceptibility to male-induced stupidity.

Funny, it's always the *men* who are accused of letting the little head think for the big head. Geez, I could write a book on the subject. It would, of course, be a cautionary tale.

There are many surprises you have missed in past episodes... I would hold off on any more new ones until you have seen the old ones.

"Everything in its right place." There is still much to take in that you've not seen.

This website has been a great help, because I have had a hard time getting each season's DVDs:

                      www.sidereel.com/Battlestar_Galactica

Not always a full screen link, but often enough.

I just got off the phone with my friend in Phoenix, and he advised me similarly. He's going to send me season one asap. He said that it might be less cool since I already know things I'm not supposed to know for a long time, but he said that it's a story, and it's not just about knowing the ending (or plot points, or whatever). He said that it's about the telling of the story, and that it's a good telling, so it's still worth my while to go back to the beginning and work my way up.

That sidereel link is *awesome*. I don't know how much of a tendency my friend has to procrastinate, but if he takes a while and I get impatient, I'll go ahead and use that.

                        Thanks for the advice. :)

The latest episode of BSG airs today, season 4 episode 10, Revelations....it's the midseason finale, no new episodes until early next year :(

I haven't seen it yet, it's on at 9pm... glad I'm caught up and able to catch it before heading to a party @ 11... my kind of night!

I think they will reveal the final Cylon in this episode...

latest BSG news (no spoilers, don't worry):

'Battlestar's' final season expands; TV movie looking good

As "Battlestar Galactica" gets ready to air its mid-season finale on Friday, there are two bits of good news to share regarding the show.

According to well-informed sources, it’s almost certain that at least one “Battlestar Galactica” TV movie will be made this year.

Here’s even better news: Up to two hours may be added to “Battlestar’s” final run of episodes.

You heard that right: The last leg of the show’s final season could expand to 12 hours, instead of the originally planned 10 hours.

As he discussed here, the show’s executive producer, Ronald D. Moore, wrote "Battlestar's" final episode, which could be up to three hours long (a wild guess here: Sci Fi probably wouldn’t air the whole thing in one night). Mary McDonnell described her reaction to the script this way: It filled her with "an incredible feeling of adrenaline,” she told Ain't It Cool News. “It made me understand the entire saga, and made me excited for all of you.”

UPDATE: Here's a statement from from a Sci Fi spokesman: "As written by Ron, the phenomenal finale script extends beyond the time alotted for the episode. We're exploring how to shoot the extra footage as Ron has envisioned and written it."

As for when the final part of Season 4 will air, Moore has told TV Guide that it’s probably going to be in 2009. (Update: EOnline.com reports that the president of Sci Fi has said the last episodes will begin airing in the "first quarter" of 2009.)

Regarding the “Battlestar” TV movie, as "Razor" did, it will probably air on Sci Fi first then be released on DVD within days (the preceding sentence was updated with new information from a Sci Fi rep). There’s no word on who will be in the movie, what it will be about and when it will air. All of that is still to be determined.

In a previous story, I’d reported that up to three films were being considered. Whether the other two “Battlestar” TV movies will get made is an open question at this point, but it is possible, according to my sources and according to Galactica Sitrep (which also has wall-to-wall coverage of Wednesday’s screening of the mid-season finale at Los Angeles’ Cinerama Dome).

Stay tuned for more “Battlestar” thoughts: I’ll have a blog post up on Friday’s mid-season finale, “Revelations,” this weekend. (The photo above is of Katee Sackhoff as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in "Revelations.")
