The authentic, traditional Mai Tai recipe is a syrupy sweet, very strong triple shot drink that dwarfs kamikazes and sex on the beach by comparison. Like an almond-flavored Long Island iced tea with twice as much sugar and you can taste all the alcohol. A modernized, diluted modification which incorporates orange and pineapple juice with a splash of grenadine is far more palatable, and is similar to the version served by some major Hawaiian hotels. Face it, people's taste in cocktails has changed a lot since Trader Vic invented this deadly concoction.

I've tried a number of Mai Tai recipes, and still haven't found one that I like, but maybe that's just me. But I'm all about giving the people what they want!
