I worked so hard to get to her
I drove my car
that didn't work
so i drove home to ride my bike

with a hoop on my shoulder
i ride, i ride
to meet her and another
i rode hard against the wind

i looked at such beauty along the way
people not in their ordinary ways
i looked, i looked for her
i spotted her, two hoops and a bike

she wobbled on the bike
and caught herself
i'm telling you
i could write a poem for days about this girl

she will give you all her shine
every bit of it, to the point
i say, every bit
till she's at home in tears

she puts balm on my lips
to make me hoop longer
she pours water in my mouth
so i will stay hydrated
she gives me a list of foods
when i can't eat

she is Lynn, she is my ground
she keeps me sane
