we have all heard the stories about the water powered car and the hydrogen injection modifications etc.
at the same time there already exists gas powered electric generators that provide power for the grid.
has anyone heard of initiatives to use internal combustion engines with hydrogen for grid power ?
in my mind it is still hydro electric if they are using water to generate elecricity.

That costs energy, which has to come somewhere, and some of that energy is lost as heat. In turn, using it in an engine will lose some more of the energy as heat, so you end up with what is essentially an energy sink. That would be entirely counterproductive. -
