I would have said Jake Gyllenhaal, because I didn't know who Jake Shears was. Google to the rescue! Jake Shears (born Jason Sellards on October 3, 1977 in Arizona) is the vocalist for the American music group the Scissor Sisters. I think one of my best friends is into them. Count to think of, I think my bf is too! I wonder if I know their music,...

Shears; Mos Def. although I was disappointed with their second album. My Sister-in-law LUVS Gyllenhaals ass. Cant get enough of it. That and Toby McGuire. Spi-d-y Boo-tah to the rescue. "Oh Peter, what's that sticky white stuff on your fingers" ;)
    Yet I digress.............

OH! And you HAVE to listen to the Scissor Sisters Live onRadio ONE Essentials Selection. DAH BOMB!

Shears is cute and seems to e Molly's ideal man. I like the scissor sisters, but they must be a bit past it because they keep on playing gigs in my tiny little town.
I also think we should add Kylie to the list (ducking for cover)

I agree Doggus. On the strength of their second album, SS will disappear fast (although Jake will endure in one form or another...he is way too egotistical to simply fade away.

The first album had a novelty and sincerity value (at the very least) and showed off Jakes vocal range. Ta Dah is simply Jake squealing out third rate dance tunes ....probably as a result of his misguided awe of such kweens as Elton and Kylie.

Musically he would do well to cut the cord and straighten out a bit!!!!

lol! Not surprising coming from you, Johnny. :-)
Okay, let's switch it over to who you think is hot from the metal genre. I listen to and have cd's and records of most of the bands you like (Saxon, Priest, etc) - which metal musician or singer gets YOUR motor running?

      (btw....thanks for participating!)

Henry Rollins was hot before he shaved his head and got muscular.
I liked Rollins back in Blag Flag when he was skinny with longhair and punched people in the face. :)

        My fave 'metal' boys?
        Hmm....Tommy Lee most definately.
Zak Wylde (again, before he got muscular too)
and a LOT of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal boys from the late 70's/early 80's.
I like skinny longhaired rocker guys. Kind of like the ones some of you older guys (me included) remember from high school.
        That's my type.
Just plain old ripped jeans, t-shirt, leather jacket types. I can't stand these "perfect" looking guys, they are soooo unnattractive to me.
In terms of looks, personality and the whole package?
Tommy Lee definately (before he got into the rap crap).

          (Hiya Arne!)

CHRIS CORNELL (Soundgarden/Audioslave) has held my attention for a long time. I tend to gravitate towards artists/musicians that get even better looking with time. It makes me feel okay with my own aging process - LOL! (I try not to dread each passing Birthday...)

Neither Audioslave nor Soundgarden are/were metal bands, but they're heavy (rock) all the same.

All heavy metal guys look like the worst of 1970 fashion shit. Long hair, leather on untoned bodies, skinny trousers on chicken legs, grotesque over the top medallions, infantile references to Satan (yeah, waaay scary, guys), makeup on faces more suited to pigs, average age 547 going on 13....so totally and (sadly) unintentionally faggy.....not to mention the music is akin to scraping ones nails down a blackboard (can one still say <black>board in the US?)

They also look like they smell bad and have a complete set of entirely false teeth.

I have never understood the link between gay male and heavy metal. Is it that heavy metal is the gay idea of <masculine man> or is it that taste in music is genetically linked to sexuality??

For the first and last time I will say all my posts are made tongue in cheek (or when completely pissed ..as in drunk) ..so dont come whinging to me at a later date.....you have been warned...

Guys with fucked up teeth or a missing tooth or two? HELL YEAH!
I also like guys who smell "bad" too.
You can have your pretty short haired boys who smell like designer soap.

ROCK N ROLL IS SUPPOSED TO STINK.
IF IT DOESN'T STINK, IT'S NOT ROCK N ROLL.
              Period.

If those pics in your profile are you then you look slightly like Depp with longer hair.

If so, I forgive your shit taste in music and the fact that, by admission, you smell like a well ridden horse.

(And I abhor most pretty boys....I like men to look and smell like men.....not ELO fugitives who cant afford soap and the occasional razor)

                  The pics are me yes.
I wouldn't say like I smell like a well ridden horse though; perhaps more like stale cigarettes and sweat on occasion after a night of headbanging at a gig; although a cat DID piss on my leather jacket not that long ago so you can throw "cat piss leather" in there too but that's temporary until I get er dry cleaned eh..

Molly: "I have never understood the link between gay male and heavy metal."

Well, you are not alone! I've been hearing this all my life! (hee hee!)
But in my case, I was into rock music and then ultimately heavy metal long before I realized I was queer. I bought my first Zepplin album in the 3rd grade and fell in love with the electric guitar! Eventually I moved to Germany and witnessed the emergence of heavy metal in the 70's. I am familar with and probably have seen live in concert many, if not most of the bands that Johnny likes to this day. I was skinny and had long hair down to the crack of my ass and that was what I was attracted to also.

But, *alas* - life is a funny thing! By the end of my 20's, I stopped playing in rock bands and gradually my hair style got shorter and shorter. It has everything to do with the profession I'm in now. I did NOT "sell out!" I just am busy trying to make a living.

By the way. I take showers daily. AND I still love (original) metal music. ;-)

                      Hey Lucian,
About not selling out....I think that has a lot to do with the fact that metal is more of a lifestyle than a 'fad'.
Emo will die, goth will die, punk (REAL punk) is already dead, etc....but metalheads are majorly true to their roots and most of us consider not only a taste in music but an entire lifestyle as well. I think that's the difference.
I'm 33 years old (soon to be 34) and am personal friends with a lot of the bands that I love (and a lot of the bands you have seen play).
I still have the longhair and wear the denim jacket chalk full of metal patches etc, and when I'm 50 I'll be doing the same thing and wearing the same thing (only by that time I'll look like an aging biker rather than a headbanger haha)
It's a lot easier for me though as I'm a filmmaker and run my own production company so I can look whatever way I like because I call the shots and am "the boss" of my career. That makes it a lot easier :P

once a banger always a banger, my first concert was Alice Cooper.....Opening Act.....Skid Row (maybe not but yeah?!?)

I am sure I am the only guy ever to pass out at a ACDC concert.....yeah right,i t just so happens I saw my first act of public sex that trip too, in a park, an old dude and a hooker.....on a grassy knole......

and i think that's complete bullshit. Every "fad" has it's originators and the people who see it as much more than a fashion, whether it's emo, goth, punk, heavy metal or rock n' roll. I like all kinds of music from classical and old time country (can't stand the modern shit) to heavy metal but I happen to LOVE The Rolling Stones.
I used to have long hair but I cut it because it gives me the shits having to spend too much pretty boy time washing and drying it or having it wet for most of the day.

Well Molly, in order to be insulting you have to offend.
You may offend some in here with whatever you say but to some of us (like myself for instance), nothing you say could actually offend because
#1: I don't know you so (no offense) I don't care about your opinion on anything (especially me or my life) and
#2:I know the ONLY reason why you do it is to get a rise out of people.
And #3: I've come across more insulting people in my life who would eat you for breakfast.
Trust me MOL, I've HEARD IT ALL.
And besides, I'd much rather 'debate/argue' face to face than over the internet.
                    C'mon over for a beer.
If you can stand the smell. ;)

Johnny, wrong assumption, I do not insult to get a rise out of people. In fact, I do not intentionally insult at all. I merely state my opnion and experience has taught me if I dont do that in a humorous way then, indeed, I sound insulting. If I sound insulting already it is only because you do not understand my humour.

I am very glad you do not not care about my opnion.....I so hate groupies.

As for you knowing folk that would eat for me breakfast, I have seen your pic of your fantasy man and am in no doubt that you speak the truth. He looks, indeed, that he could eat 120 pounds for breakfast.

Keith Richards '68-'77 and 1980 kinda perks my interest. The one time I saw the stones in the flesh Mick was like a swirling sexuality - no gender, no preference just an obviously sexual being.

                                Wow I missed a lot.

                                O.K., so Metal Heads I loved;

Layne Staley (Alice In Chains) before he offed himself.
Chris Cornell before the Haircut when he never wore a shirt (drooooooooooool)
Page Hamilton of HELMET (looks clean cut, but sexy)

Besides that I never really hung a pic on my wall and fondled myself because of it.

I grew up with Rush/Zeppelin/ACDC/ VanHalen etc... none of which were graced with "Hotties"
I loved Black Flag/Dead Kennedy's/Minor Threat - again Rollins, not my type. Jello Bafra? Pah-leeze
Ian MacKaye? Rich lil Daddy's boy-no thanks.

My faggy side - Culture Club - Luved Boy Georges Hair color / Erasure - ehh.... Andy Bell was too queer for me / Pet Shop Boys - Brillo Pad hair do's are a no-no New Order - Bernard Sumner had that "Johnny Lydon" look to him w/out the Red hair.

I was always too busy Moshing and slam dancing with the cute boiz to drool over the band, The sweaty touch was always better than the musical buzz.

                                Dog out.

Iggy pop-I remember getting spit and sweated on by Iggy Pop- best show I've been too- 1984 iggy and the stooges- at the end of the show some idiot threw a fire cracker on stage- the drum set started on fire- people screaming and fleeing in panic- Me? I was too stoned to care- they came out with the fire extinguisher- sprayed the fire and me with it- I was just standing there taking it all in- Iggy came out about 10 minutes later and they played a hour long set just for the about 10 of us left- God I loved that show

and there is Dave Navarro- I've always thought he was hot

I totally agree about Dave Navarro being a hottie! I've always had great respect for him as a musician anyways. His solo work is excellent too.

Iggy has always been a facinating person, but I've never been into his music much.

Thanks for your input, Tatdude! :-)

Dave Navarro is the biggest egomaniac on the planet. I thought he was good looking until his personality shone through.
Now he's about as attractive as Don Knotts to me. At least Don Knotts rocked; he had that going for him.
Seriously man....Dave Navarro = Narsiccistic Personality Disorder in the WORST way.

I just googled that Dave dude.

He needs to wash more and stop dressing like a closet case..

Then he would be just ugly instead of patheticlly uncool and ugly.

At the risk of sounding like an elitest snob (*sigh*)...I come into contact with a lot of "famous" people...mostly because of work...they all seem flesh and blood to me. I don't think overly deeply about their status in the public eye. (I'm around a lot of political celebrities - unfortunately they're from the wrong side of the aisle!) Sometimes I meet people and don't immediately make the connection as to who they are when they're in the lime light. I just see people as people.

If I've met and danced with Jake at one of our Gatherings, then I'm not connecting the face to the person. I'll let you know as soon as it comes to me. IF it does. (Sorry Molly!)

I just wish I could dance. . . . unfortunately the few times I've tried it people tend to leave the dance floor while others sort of look and point and laugh.

Don Knotts is uber-cool but I think Jerry Lewis is the most handsome comic. Dave Navarro is good looking - I'd do him - I liked that kiss he did with An
