i was speaking to my bf's friend about memory loss and i was thinking of ordering something for my memory. i am looking up symptoms of Alzheimer's. i am 23 yrs old, is it possible to even experience it at my age? these are the symptoms i feel i do experience:

1. Decreased ability to remember names when introduced to new people.
2. Performance issues in social or work settings noticeable to family, friends or co-workers (noticeable to my bf)

3. Reading a passage and retaining little material (noticeable to my bf)

4. Losing or misplacing a valuable object (noticeable to my bf)

5. Decline in ability to plan or organize (noticeable by myself)
6. Decreased knowledge of recent occasions or current events (noticeable by me and my bf)
7. Impaired ability to perform challenging mental arithmetic-for example, to count backward from 75 by 7s (noticeable by me and bf)

8. Decreased capacity to perform complex tasks, such as planning dinner for guests, paying bills and managing finances (noticeable by me, complex tasks have been very difficult for me)

9. Reduced memory of personal history (noticeable by myself)

10. The affected individual may seem subdued and withdrawn, especially in socially or mentally challenging situations. (noticeable by me and bf)
11. Become confused about where they are or about the date, day of the week or season (noticeable by me)

12. Have trouble with less challenging mental arithmetic; for example, counting backward from 40 by 4s or from 20 by 2s (noticeable by bf and me)

I believe i hit my head on something hard when i was a child, but i seriously can't remember at all. this memory issue has been affecting me as i was getting over the age of 10. this has been bothering my academic studies and my grades have never been so good.

it gets very hard to learn something and nothing doesn't stay in my long term memory (well a few things), but things stay in my short term memory. when it comes to auditory, i'm not really listening to something its like someone says somethin and i cant paraphrase what they asked me. i had to ask the question a few times.

my own teachers hated the fact that they had to repeat the question like 3 times. im tryin to take what my teachers said that they had problems with me up to now. my speaking ability has been...not good. i was told i should of been in speech therapy a long time ago. does anyone have any opinions about this?

I posted elsewhere with what to do, but realized...what not to do is as important. Are you a diet soda drinker? If so, quit. The aspartame in these drinks is pure toxicity and can cause anything ranging from seizures to ADHD and other neuro-disorders. Use fluoride-free toothpaste as the mercury in flouride can alter the brain's ability to think clearly. Tom's is available in health food stores and at the CVS. Try to eat as few processed foods as you can. Or, if you're into them, eat a comparable amount of live foods to clean your system out regularly. For every bag of chips, eat veggies and/or fruit. The richer the color of the veggie/fruit, the greater its antioxidant potential. Give up powdered drinks as they also have the same deadly aspartame and other sweeteners that do nothing more than excite the brain and jumble its ability to think clearly. I'm mostly a water drinker now...with fruit juice at breakfast. I also drink a lot of hot tea in the cooler months and iced tea in the warmer months.

Good supplements: colostrum builds immunity and will thus help the brain and dandelion root will strengthen immunity, and was used successfully during the 1918 pandemic. Its link to being able to treat swine flu is credible, and what my approach has been daily. Here's a great supplier: www.vitacost.com.

There also may be a relationship between hypersensitity and a destroyed digestive system, as well.

If your digestive system is very weak, the vegetation will actually poison you. People have nearly died because they listen to people are practicing at nutrition with fad diets.

They don't understand that while they are at place where their body can digest and nuetralize plants, some people aren't, and some people never will be. They forget that plants do everything they can to not be eaten. They produce alot of toxic byproducts that the human body must nuetralize. Somtimes a plant finally becomes successfull at protecting itself. We call that "poisonous". But that is just the plant's evolutionary instinct to prevent itself from being eaten.

The only type of plant life that desires to be eaten are plants with seeds intact in the fruit. Being eaten by animal life becomes a survival strategy, and a successful one (using mammals and birds to transport seeds).

Now, of course, there are many plants that have wonderful healing properties and nutritional properties. Many people with functional digestive systems can develop a successful vegetarian diet .

But if you want to get really healthy, you need to ignore all the current dietary philosophies. I've helped people for many years overcome very tough health challenges, but the first thing one must do is to drop preconceptions.

The idea is that what you know is keeping you sick, and what you don't know is killing you. The truth behind that statement should be self-evident.

    Hi Marquis,

You are exhibiting symptoms that could be related to heavy metal toxicity. You should get some lab work done, although most of the tests are not reliable (excep the Melisa test, which is very reliable but also very expensive)...consider starting a detox protocol and/or diet just to be on the safe side. You probably have an immune system that is ultra-sensitive to chemicals and metals.

      Marquis,
Chlorella is a supplement which has chelatin-removal ability. Colostrum does as well and will help clean your body of toxins as well as build immunity. Both of these should serve you well and you can get them at vitacost for around $7. Something stronger is called modifilan, which can be had at www.modifilan.com. I also am susceptible to metals and like agents and can understand some of what you're going through, as I have myself. I also think Dandelion Root is something you should try. Good luck.

        Hi Marquis:

Exactly. People who aren't sensitive to such things don't get a physiological reaction.

With such individuals, exposure to heavy metals and other contaminants is less tolerated than average people. It has been estimated that one in thirty people have potentially severe sensititivies to heavy metals. For this group of people, even minute exposure can cause serious and long-term health consequences.

Exposure does not have to be chronic, it only has to reach a certain threshold. That can happen to a child (vaccinations, bad water sources, industrial exposure, mercury fillings ), or to an adult later in life. But once that threshold is reached, chronic illness results and persists, even without continued exposure.

Medical doctors get baffled because they are correctly educated. Tests that a hospital would normally run would not likely show anything. You have to go to people who understand medicine, not those who are practicing at it.

That means John Hopkins Center for Environmental Medicine, or a similiar facility. Or you can go to a Melisa test facility and have them do a profile, but again, it is very expensive and not covered by insurance.

Or, you can operate under the assumption that you have one or more exposures to heavy metals, and you can start the long process of removing them from your body, and healing with natural nutrition.

You have to go to people who understand medicine, not those who are practicing at it. I would avoid western doctors like the plague - unless they've deliberately sought education in the naturopathic fields or in nutrition. It's not a western doctor who helped me find a natural cure for my epilepsy. It's also not possible to patent anything from nature and you must believe that western medicine has been trained to do for the pharmaceutical companies. Sadly, they do not realize what they're missing (to a point) because nutrition is barely taught at all in medical schools. Go with a naturopath...

These can all be signs of depression as well, particularly if you have ever taken an SSRI for depression. Depression alone does all of these things to me and ever since I took medication for it years ago my cognitive functioning seems muddled. I just feel dumb & confused.

Try a juice fast. Start two or three days at a time then build it up very slowly over a long period of time, finish with a month long fast. Juice fresh organic fruit and vegetables. Use only some low sugar fruits. Candida can cause these type of symptoms. A juice fast will cleanse you mentally and spiritually, as well as physically of course. It worked for me.
