In Chile The State Courts have convicted and sentences a Pinochet era general to 15 years in prison.
General Manuel Contreras ( here: tinyurl.com/3qgxjw ) was Pinochet’s secret police commander. Many people disappeared and some turned up murdered in Chile during Pinochet’s efforts to nationalize the nation’s copper mines and turn the economy around. Contreras is already serving 57 years in prison on other related charges.
