I have never heard such a heart felt apology.
I suspect that if he had intended to do so he probably could have just let speculation run till it burned out. But this guy clearly came hat in hand with unshod feet and admitted to the world that he screwed up royally and apologized to everyone.
He even answered questions about how it all began with painful candor.
I believe every word he said.
He won't be running for president in 2012

Thu, June 25, 2009 - 12:43 PMNormally, I don’t give a damn what politicians do with their private lives unless it is demonstrational that it effects their performance in office.
In this case it clearly has?! -

Re: Well now we know where the Governor of SC was.
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 6:03 PMyeah, he ought to lose his job just for jetting off without saying anything to his staff or the lt governor. . .that's enough alone.
plus his remarks that he needed to travel around the state apologizing to his constituents. . .duh, just get lost dude. . -

I think that's more of a political red herring.
So what if the Governorator is unavailable?
So what? What would happen? The State's built in rules of succession of power would step in and be invoked immediately in the event of an emergency.
It's really people bitching about nothing with that famous leftist waggling finger of the self proclaimed morally superior. -

Re: Well now we know where the Governor of SC was.
Fri, June 26, 2009 - 9:20 AMIt's me, Cliff. . .I don't know how famous my finger is, and I don't care if my governor is a republican or a democrat, if he or she leaves the country for several days without telling anyone, I would want them out of there. . . -

Re: Well now we know where the Governor of SC was.
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 7:23 AMI understand your position. I find the conduct weird beyond eyebrow raising too.
It also does not convey the level of commitment I'd want from my governor who'd put a girlfriend (even a serious one) before the needs of the state. But it's just not the "psycho-killer attack in the middle of the night" that the left is trying to paint it as.
The man further shot himself in the feet by merely engaging in the conduct disappearance or not. He was a contender for 2012 and a serious one. This behavior is sort of like Gary Hart's who threw his chances away with his impetuous behavior.
One does not want an impetuous man as POTUS.
Look at where the current one is taking us all. It is promising to be a hell ride through all seven levels of hell.
The only up side I see in the current POTUS is that never again will a democrat hold office in the USA after this guy is done.

Re: Well now we know where the Governor of SC was.
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 12:21 PMThe cap in trade bill they just passed will offend every single adult American alive.
Just wait till the ramifications of that thing start to find their way into our lives. The Fed in one fell swoop had swept every microscopic granular aspect of daily life under their purview.
And not one of those worthless monsters read the god dammed thing.
There is something dreadfully wrong with voting on a bill on the sloe thesis that some idiot is in a hurry.

Re: Well now we know where the Governor of SC was.
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 1:30 PMwell, the culture is broke, the system is broke, somehow creating compost for something healthier to grow in, might be the best idea. . .so let's hope every American gets pissed off. .
